Kennesaw's law is pretty well written and should be a model for other towns looking to lower crime. Its not unprecedented as some of the original American colonies had similar laws. Individuals were expected to maintain firearms so they could fulfill their militia roles. This points out once again that the PEOPLE are the militia, not some govt. agency (i.e. the National Guard).

Kennesaw's law: Sec. 34-21. - Heads of households to maintain firearms.

(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore.

(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.

Seriously though...if you look at countries where there is a firearm in every house...Switzerland is one...violent crime is almost unheard of there, and when it is, it is usually done by foreigners and asylum seekers.

I think that it is fairly obvious that the reason for the low rate of violent crime is because the criminals know that they stand a pretty good chance of looking down the business end of an assault rifle.

Just open a constitutional congress or if your constitution allows it use an initiative.
If you can point me to a copy of the Australian Constitution I will look for any legal ways to add an ammendment for you.

I'd like to point out that the Second Amendment doesn't "give" us the right to keep and bear arms, it is just a recognition that we ALREADY HAVE that right. Call it a "natural right" or a "God given right" as you choose but we have it without any amendment. Unfortunately power hungry leaders/governments don't see things that way.

I like the 9th Amendment!
9th Amendment
The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

That pretty much gives us our "God-given" rights no matter what the rest of those government rats might try to push.

Well there is I think a guy WHO HAS TO BE A BUSHMASTER(he he he) Family member!!!! And then Ok the gal with the "stubby 1911" ain't to hard on the eyes! BUT the REAL one there was of course" Miss Teets!!!!! A gal with a full size SCAR???? And young and Brunette???? OK I am outta' here on this one! She is the same age as my "little" sister!!!! AHHHHH!!!!! HA HA HA!!!!

But for the most part it wasn't a hatchet job with folks who look like they just crawled out of a deep dark hole somewhere.
