Vince, that's horrible !!!
Ain't that the truth mate...and it is only getting worse. I have just received an email that outlines over 400 changes to the Weapons Act and Regulations here in Queensland. Worst part about it is, they give the public a month to make a submission, then hide the details away on an obscure website. Oh yeah, and they don't need to put changes to the Regulations before the Govt...the Police Commissioner can authorise the changes suggested by his "staff" !!! They then become law !!!
How long do you figure before anything that can actually fire a projectile is banned? I would be going absolutely CRAZY - They would have hauled me off by now.

Well mate...they are slowly but surely working towards that very point. "Death by a thousand cuts" my shooting buddy and I call it now...its getting very "painful".
One of our past Prime Ministers (John Howard) was an extreme ANTI, and he did more to destroy firearm ownership in this country than anybody in the past. He even had the audacity to show up to a public press conference one time wearing body armour under his suit jacket. I'm glad that nobody ever took a shot at him because that would have made him a total martyr and sealed our fate completely. He also signed the UN plan to remove firearms from all members of the public by the year 2000. Luckily that didn't happen, although he tried very hard to bring it about.
Anywayz...getting back on topic...I would love to have my Ruger Mk1 back again...a great little pistol, but not what I would consider a personal defence firearm.
Cheers, Vince

The only thing I feel not so great about the MKI is the fact that it doesnt have slide stop,
thus it doesnt open the slide after the alst shot.
Otherwise, I got a MKI that is real sweet.
Even my daughters said so
Strange, all other members in the pistol club prefers some european pistols Hammerli, Pardini, Walther, Feinwerkbrau, etc.
And here I am happily shooting with a Ruger MKI and a Browning Buckmark..

I ordered a new CZ452 Varmint in 22 RFM today! If it shoots half as good as my 22 LR it will be well worth the $400.00 price tag, Im gonna mount a Meuler 4.5-14 X44mm on it.

Last week I picked up a Ruger Mk II Target, 5.5" bull barrel and blued, from a coworker. In the box with two extra mags for $250. Now maybe my daughter will let me keep my Mk II Competition ...

Crafty rational for buying another pistol. "I bought this dear so you would have one of your own and I could keep the one I already had!"

Marty, nice Contender! I'm wanting an Encore myself, something in 7mm (7mm-08 or 7x57).
