Once in a while I go to Wal-Mart of K-Mart when they have .22 l.r. ammo on sale for $.79 a box. Since I prefer used guns, K-Mart and Wal-Mart are out and the used gun prices at the local Cabelas store are too high for me. Most of the time I visit three small gun shops where the owners value their customers. These shops have low overhead and know they are in a competitve arena. Regular customers get discounts. They have a no questions asked return policy on firearms and give me 30 days credit terms without interest. Where do you folks shop? All the best...

Walmart occasionally for some cheap .22's or 12GA upland game shells.
For the rest we have a store similar to cabelas called Sportsmans Warehouse and its from that I buy most stuff (mainly because they have some of the rarer components). I also really like a local store called Gunnies and try to give them business when possible although their selection is more limited (they have a better selection of Muzzloader sabots for some reason).
Archery I like a little "hole in the wall" archery shop called Humphreys Archery. Their service is A #1!
I buy some reloading things from Midway and Sinclair too. We have another "farm supply" store called Cal Ranch who is tempting me heavily with the lefty .17HRM Savage ... out the door price of $220. They also sell reloading supplies, bullets / powders.
Guns I buy wherever I find a good deal. I've bought some online from Hawaii (purtiest little lefthanded .243 BDL you've ever seen), Alaska (my Lefty M70 7STW, others locally in pawn shops and other stores. No set source. All my scopes came from said Pawn shop... we have one locally that sells NEW scopes and guns cheaper than anything you can find anywhere on the planet ($320 for a new shrink wrapped 6.5x20 Leupold VXII a few years back).
hmmmm I havent been to that store in a while. I better go visit them tomorrow and see what new toys they have... I really loved the semi auto .50 BMG Barret they keep on display there

Hey, I know what you mean about the Barret. Out little gun shop in my little town has one in stock. Looks pretty good. $7,200 is too much for my bank account. They have put a "Not For Sale" sign on it now. I guess as an investment sense CNN and 60 minutes are getting on the "bad 50 bmg" kick.
I did buy a Armalite single shot bolt action 50 bmg. Very nice. And LOUD.

We have a couple of gun shops locally from whom I can buy. We also have a few shops in Western Canada who carry pretty much the same rifles so I watch to see who has the best price. We have to have a license to buy a gun, but it's good anywhere in the country so if I want a new rifle I just call and give them my credit card info and it's shipped out immediately. They will also have it registered for me which saves a little hassle. We have rather strange laws up here, but they work rather well. Best wishes.

Howdy. Walmart for shotgun shells, 22 mag shells and muzzleloader supplies. I have a buddie that has a little shop in PA who i deal with for new guns, some local shops in MD and DL i look into for used guns or the local paper ya never no what u might find. There are some semi local bow shops as well for archery supplies and then there is cabelas and natches i pretty much look every were.

I never did any gun shopping on line, but have scanned Auction Arms at www.auctionarms.com and Guns America at www.gunsamerica.com. The prices tend to give me chest pains. I would rather handle and see what I am buying before cutting loose with the cash. All the best...

I try to support my local trading post. I live in a small town and the WalMart here is pretty skimpy in the gun and shooting dept. The next closest major store is 120 miles away, so I try to keep our local business going. (I've been doing a pretty good job of it of late I have done some shopping online, but I find that for most items, our local store has about the same price when you figure in shipping costs.

Our Wal*Marts in Quebec only sell ammo for .22 rimfires and some shotgun shells so they aren't a good option. I can usually get away with ordering my years supply in one shot (pun intended) from a gunshop out west. Boy is that ever one heavy shipment! I can get it locally, but there's not a single shop that carries everything I use. I get tired of going all over hells half acre for my bullets and powder. One thing for sure, when you do a lot of range firing that shipment is apt to be expensive as all get out. Best wishes.

Sraight from the manufacture! (FFL holder)
This way I can order exactly whatever options I want on the rifle or handgun and not have to worry about all the different stuff later on.
