Idaho is a great place to hunt. The North Fork of the Clearwater is one of my favorites. Good Luck on your tags. Very Happy

Spend much time up in the Clearwater moose??? I loved it up there, used to live in Pierce ID, bout 80 miles from Lewiston back in my younger days... that place pretty much is where i developed about all of my hunting skills and passions....
Wow, somebody who actually lived in Pierce. Been awhile since I've been there. Pretty darn remote. I would have loved to grown up there. I can only imagine with the demise of the logging industry, that Pierce is really quiet these days. Good Luck hunting this coming season. Very Happy

Savagenut, sounds like an effective way to prepare for your hunt. Is this the shot placement you describe?

This came from an interesting file I found regarding elk shot placement.

This comparison to a deer also impressed me! Now I know why you need a horse or a squad of buddies to haul the meat out.

well I looked at the odds on getting drawn for the different hunts and my freezer, decided to go with a late Bull 1st and early cow 2nd. The early Bull would be nice but I just want to get out and put some meat in the freezer.

I will have some fun going out with a camera anytime Very Happy

yeah, I would of liked the early hunt but 1:100 was to steep of odds, I like the 1:4 odds a lot better

Here we are waiting to hear if there is going to be a open bull, cow & calf season they had one last year and we got hunt the farm land. Our draw does not have to be in until late may I think.

Blessings,
Dan
