I got an "El Kabong" alright. I was in the same area tonight but no water melons, just normal size birds........ but come Saturday morning I am going in search of anything that resembles a duck.

I went out last night just to take the dog out and check a new spot out. There were about a dozen Woodie and Teal in there but they were pushing the 12ga range. Tonight I went back with the 10ga and wouldn't you know it nobody was home. Tomorrow I am going to go check to the west of us in open field country, I have been seeing more birds that way when I'm over there. Maybe I can find a good spot for the weekend.

We got out a few days at the beginnig of the week. The weather was very cold, windy and rainy. There we some mallards around, but don't think there were any Northerns in the area we hunted. Mostly shot widgeons and mallards. Was surprised that there were not many geese around. There was though, thousands of those squawking sandhill cranes. Man, they about drive me nuts, having to listen to them for a few hours. Very Happy

The biggun's I seen must have been teasers. I've been out the last three nights, and nothing at all last night and tonight.

I got to see them big ol' mallards again tonight, they are smart enough to sit in the rod ditch along a major highway.

That's what we call a North Dakota Drive By, but they kinda frown upon that here in Minnesota. Other wise they would be on the BBQ already.
