I might be going to Gettysburg for a few days in early October, touring the battlefield. Wondered if anyone was nearby and wanted to meet for lunch or coffee?

You are about three years too late ! That was my old stomping ground before moving to Alaska. Actually, I am from Chambersburg, which is right over the mountain from Gettysburg and has the distinction of being the only union town burnt by the Rebs. Chambersburg was actually burnt twice by the south during the war. Enjoy the visit !

I would love to visit such hallowed ground especially to meet a friend but with no vacation left for the year I will be making flying weekend trips to North Dakota for some excellent duck hunting.

You should check out Reddings Hardware while you are in Gettysburg, one of the best gun stores in southern PA.

Roklok, thanks, if I have time I'll check them out.
I love visiting Gettysburg! Been going there on and off since about 1979. I've been in several reenactments there, including the 125th, 130th and 135th anniversary events. In fact the first reenactment I ever participated in was there in 1981.
This was the 135th Anniversary event
