Who hasn’t shot one?

Who can deny the simple pleasure that is plinking away at cans, pans, spinners, gongs, and pretty much anything else worthy of some lead.

Zero recoil, ton’s of different models from cheap to over-the-top, and a gun for everyone and every need.

How many got ‘the fever’ that is shooting due to this simple little round?

Here’s my latest, a 2008 Mossberg 702 “Plinkster” with a Schnable fore end, and, a 3-9X40 ( I got for free, note chipped lens, not in way of reticle so...it works and was free!). Sucker is a tack driver at 50y and I simply cannot shoot this thing enough. It was a whopping 140$. I’ve been w/o one for some time now and man, what that heck was I thinking!
The trigger was an awful gritty affair and super notchy. I pulled the group and married it some. A little better, but it’ll need more work. Simple fix. I also yanked the sights to give it a more aggressive look.

We all have high-power, center-fire, big boom or super-fast stuff.

But who can deny the humble .22 it’s due?

I can’t, and almost 50 years later, it’s still a treat for me.

-k.

Have to agree with shooting the 22's. I shoot my Henry alot and hunt rabbits alot with it. Rediscovered how much fun it was to shoot with iron sights. My skills with open sights are pretty diminished, but alot of fun all thesame, and I don't have to worry about dinging up a scope. Great fun the .22. Smile

Right on! My significant other and I shoot our .22 rifles just about every weekend. We go through a lot of bulk packs of Federal .22 ammo from Wal-Malt. All the best...

Can't beat a .22 Stovepipe.
You hit the nail on the head on this one.
When I hit the range with my pistols, I always start with my Ruger Mark II Competition Target with my red dot scope.
Then I will play with my Buck Mark, and maybe my Smith & Wesson Model 617.
Only then will I go to my 1911s and other pistols.
Even though I reload, playing with my .22s saves me money, is great practice, and is just a lot of fun.

You just can't beat the old 22! I find myself shooting more and more 22LR ammo since I bought a Ceiner conversion for a 1911 receiver a friend gave me because the feed ramp had been over-cut. Since the Ceiner has its own ramp, it makes no difference and makes a nice practice piece that feels close to my 45s.

Not only is the .22 a fun, effective little gun. It is a cheap way to practice and better form and accuracy.

Ah Stoves....a man after my own heart.

I have 4 or 5...can't remember, CRS...and love shooting each and every one of them. My "go to" gun for rabbits is a Krico .22 rimfire I purchased back in 1969...it still shoots 1/2" groups today.

Cheap to feed, a heck of a lot of fun and probably the best learning rifle for kids.

Cheers, Vince

I know I'm sure enjoying that little Winchester I just purchased. It's proven to be very accurate if I do my part...

Welcome to Hunting Nut Brenton. Grab a beer, pull up a stump and sit by the fire a while mate.

I'd love to be able to get out and shoot my .22s more often, but there is nowhere handy that I can do so.

Cheers, Vince
