I'm thinking about biding on a Winchester Model 290 .22 Delux with Monte Carlo stocks and 4X Weaver scope. Any opinions on this old .22 Semi-auto?

I bought one in mint condition last week for $129.00. At the range, it shot very, very well at 50 yards. Take care...

Is that with fancy wood and a Monte Carlo stock? I have seen several that were priced at $400 starting...

Hey Bushy I think the one your looking at is considered the " 290 deluxe" there's one at gunbroker starting at 400 with a scope. www.gunbroker.com/Auct...=122854211

The book I have only lists one "290 Deluxe". I'll recheck when I get back home.

Bushy,
Is that going to be your new squirrel gun?

Yes and No, Cary...I have three .22 rifles in my safe. One belongs to one of my sons. One belongs to my daughter. And one belongs to my wife. I bought every one of my children a .22 rifle when they were old enough to show responsibility. I have never owned one myself. I figured it was about time I had my own .22 rifle...So...Other then my .22 Woodsman I will now have a .22 that I can shoot without getting comments from my kids and wife. "Why don't you use your own rifle?" Have you ever shot a squirrel with a .30 WCF or a.30-06?
I've been using my Daughter's Ruger 10/22. I really don't like it. The wood is too fat and I feel like I have a child's gun to my shoulder. I've handled the 250 and 290 before and they felt much better and had a more adult feel to them.
