Revolvers, Semi Autos, single shots, what ever is in the safe. I usually hunt deer with my Desert Eagle 44magnum w/ 10" bbl.and Leupold 2X scope.
Hunt Rabbits with my Ruger MKI, 22. and some squirrels.
I have no use for heavy long rifle or light one that beat me to death.

Well...I am now inspired...My favorite handgun for hunting is my Colt SAA .357 magnum with iron fixed sights and a 4 3/4" barrel....

Folks in my part of the country think I'm crazy for useing a Desert Eagle, what they dont understand is, It was not my choice of guns, My wife got it for me 12 years ago for fathers day, and I fell in love, It shoots circles around my revolvers. 50yds from a bench you cant count the holes in the paper, Its one raged hole! Very Happy

DE's are pretty hot in Mich. still, as quite a few people i know still have/shoot them and with a little bit of smithing, they are very good out @ 100 yards as well. Very Happy Although and while not being of a small stature, i just can't get used to that grip. Yuck

Not to bad Crackshot. Smile
But the thing i don't get is people think it's too hard and brutal to shoot, and don't understand that the gun (when clean) isn't hard at all to control. When my niece turned 16 she wanted to shoot mine (when i had one) and had no problem shooting it, but only that it was cumbersome to her 4'8" frame. Razz

My brother out Law Bonk is affraid of it, He will shoot his 3"magnum slug gun all day, wont even try to shoot ANY of my hand cannon's.
Hollywood hase him convinced that it will beat him silly if he holds them wrong. (true with some) My 50ae DEP will bounce brass off you noodle ROFL if you hold wrong and my BFR 50ae will darn near split your scalp if your careless when fireing.

Laughing Yeah, hollywood has a way of showing ignorance and making people believing it. Confused I've seen a few hammer spur scars in my time (and two embedded) but never had brass bounce of my head......although, when tuning my Glock 24 and shooting very hot loads, i found out how hot it really was when 2 empties fell down my shirt! Shocked

My .45 ACP colt used to bounce fired ejected cases off my glasses until I did a little modifying of the extractor paw with a file...Very nerve rackin' to have hot cases bounce off your forehead...
