[quote="PaulS"]KW,
I thought the maximum and the Super Mag were the same cartridge.....

-Ofcourse, but different chambers with those guns. I donĀ“t mix cases. Also I use LEE dies for T/C Contender and Hornady for Dan Wesson. Diferent calipers for me, Joke, joke? OK, one minus my calipers.

I guess I'm going to be the only one here that doesn't reload. I own all of the equipment, I just don't do it. I don't want to reload in the house and my ranch welding/blacksmith shop building isn't one that I can keep clean enough. I guess I need to build a small building to use for this purpose. I've always pictured reloading as being done in a simi-clean room. My brother does it in a spare bedroom in his home. I've converted my spare bedroom into an office and part science lab (This is where I keep my microscope equipment set up).

Paul,
The 357 Max and 357 Super Mag are the same. Remington's name is Max. The cartridge was invented by and developed by Elgin Gates then President of the IHMSA as part of a line of silhouette/hunting cartridges all with the monicar of Super Mag (357, 375, 41, 44, 45). Remington, as they have with many cartridges, tried to claim the invention after they were given the cartridge by Elgin, to make for the Ruger SRM guns, the first production revolvers. Elgin forced them to write a letter acknowledging that the cartridge was in fact invented by him.
Best,
Ed

KW,
I figure if you use them in different guns you can call it as two - Its close enough to "pistol and rifle" for me.

K.W.,

I told my wife years ago that the everything inside the house is hers (chores) and everything outside is mine. If I go in the kitchen and start loading ammunition, she might start expecting me to cook!

I have my reloading room downstairs next to her sewing room. Sometimes I use her machines and she sometimes uses mine. We tend to get along that way.

I have been slowly moved around. I was mad because the garage was full of the wife's junk and she wouldn't let me make a couple charity runs to the dump....so I set up shop in the livingroom, she decided to get new carpet and made me move my operation downstairs..now we are in the process of remodeling the basement so I can see that going away as an option now...garage is still full - I can see my bench from time to time if the light is just right and I hold my arm over my head like an ape.

I use a craftsman folding work bench, put some plywood on top and hold on with C clamps, bolted on my press....I have a mobile bench...morale of the story, if the wife doesn't let me in the garage, the kitchen is looking pretty good - I caved and gave up the high ground - I am in retreat and regroup mode now.

One of the advantages of being an old fart & single is that I can do what I like - the spare bedroom contains my woodwork/metalwork bench & a motorcycle (this is upstairs......), so the reloading bench is in my bedroom. Very Happy
