I have one of these, I love it!
But....
Make sure it is level.
Keep it away from any draughts.
Fluorescent lights can interfere with it.
When dispensing finished, wait for beep THEN wait for weight to display again - sometimes it will go over. I get about 3 in 20 that over dispense & need adjusting.

Floresant lights are ALL I have in my work shop! Does it matter how far away the light is from it?

Crackshot...Wear an aluminum foil hat...Some electronic scales are effected by florecant lights. Some are not. My RCBS Powder Pro isn't effected, but...You'll find out when you get it and set it up. If it has a problem it will be erratic or not correspond with your balance scale. You may have to pull the tubes from the one closest and install an incondecent bulb or two over the bench...

Thanks for the welcome guys,
I have read on other reloading forums that fluoro lights can be a problem, but don't know how close. My chargemaster is right underneath one & doesn't seem to be a problem.
I have been getting some really accurate loads out of it - especially in my .303 No 4 mkII.
The most important thing to do is wait for the display of the weight after the beep. When dispensing, the powder trickles out & when it reaches the set weight it stops & beeps, but sometimes a few extra bits of powder fall out & the weight might go over by a tenth. AR2208 is the powder I use the most.

Welcome aboard Crusty.
You are absolutely correct on the lights.
Crackshot, if I were you, I would send the unit directly to old ElyBoy for a quick R&D check.
I will return it to you when I am sure that the powder drops are safe.
It could take years, because your safety Crackshot is foremost in my mind.
PM me, and I will give you my address.
I am even willing to pay the shipping for you.
Eric

What do you do while you are waiting for the dispenser to get done?
I put each of my cartridges through on step and the proceed to the next.
I size and decap all cases, clean the primer pocket and chamfer the mouths on all the cases. I could spend an extra two hours waiting for the powder to drop for all those cases,
I think until those electronic things get more accurate and as fast as my powder measures before I change. I have tried a couple of the electronic scales and i was not impressed with their accuracy. Weing the same 180 grain bullet ten times in a row I got variations of over a grain in a 50 grain charge. 2% is way to much variation. I can throw charges that stay within 1/20 of a grain (need to have a lab scale to measure those).

Paul, I seat the bullet in one case while waiting for the next charge to dispense.

I have to look at the powder charges to compare the levels of powder. That is why I charge them all at the same time. I Have used this routine for too many years to change it now, It also speeds up my assembly of cartridges - without losing any safety.

Well, the power came back on last night late so I went out and unpacked the Charge Master this afternoon. I run several kinds of powder through the thing and am completely satisfied. I checked all powdercharges dispensed with a Digital scale Ive had for some time and my Ohaus beam scale and all but one was right were it needed to be. The one that was over was because I bumped the trickle tube with the pan as I took it off the scale.
The little digital agreed with the RCBS and the beam scale was always under by .01 grain. I can live with that.
I tried it with stick, flake and ball powders with excellent results all around..
