Visited my eldest daughter yesterday for our grandson's birthday. She lives about 60 miles West of Brisbane in the heart of Red deer country...I'm workin' on it  .
Anywayz, we are all sitting in her back yard enjoying a BBQ when the guy that lives behind her...they live in town..calls over the back fence....2 bears.....Koala Bears.  In the tree we were sitting under were a mother and her young Koala Bear enjoying the sun.
Great to see some in the wild. Dogs, cars and a mystery disease are slowly but surely reducing the wild population.

Okay here comes the girly in me. They are soooo cute. Sometimes hunting things with a camera is the best way to hunt things. Once again they are soooooooo cuuuutttteeeee.

That was my main goal when I visited Australia a few years back was to see one. I was disappointed when I found out that they were an East Coast critter & I was headed for the West Coast, but I did luck out and we visited an animal park and the handlers asked me if I wanted to go in a visit - come to think of it, they did act kind of funny by locking the cage door and throwing the keys really far away, and I did have to dig my way out.
It was still a bummer I could not see a "Drop Bear" in the wild, but it still worked out.
