If you neck size, what is your die of preference, and why?
I have read about the Lee Collet die, which is suppose to compress the neck against a mandrel, instead of having a sizer ball pulled through a oversized neck. Supposedly this reduces runout. Makes sense. Don't know if this is fact, or marketing hype.
Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated.

The Lee collet neck sizers work as advertised.
I think it would be more popular if Lee polished the surfaces and quadrupled the price. Then the "You get what you pay for" crowd would be more comfortable with them.

Agree whole-heartedly on that! I am using them in .22 Hornet, 7mm RM, as well as .223, (for my bolt gun only), and have had great luck with them!
Have had nothing but great results with anything in the Lee line I have used!
Regards,
Tim

I see that Lee is the overwhelming favorite neck sizer.
Thanks for the input.

Lee collet die.
One small gripe is that cases sized with it don't appear to have much neck tension on the bullet (Lee do say that they can turn down the mandrel for a small fee).
I crimp using the Lee Factory Crimp Die anyway, so it doesn't matter at present.

Ok, I had to be differnet. Even though most (not all) of my dies are Lee, when I got a neck sizer for the .204, I had to get an RCBS, since that is all Sportsmans Warehouse stocks (I did not want to wait for one to arrive by mail). And, it has performed perfectly for over a year now and over a 1000 rounds.
I also use an RCBS to neck size my 6.5 x 55 Swede. Again, I ended up with this brand because I wanted one "now" and thats what Sportmans stocks. And, again, it has performed flawlessly for over a year.

Well, I guess I'm diff too. I use Redding nz dies. I also ,for some calibers, use my hornaday dies upset by .025" off the base. Just my .035 worth. Dave

I use a few. Have some RCBS neck sizers- those work well.
The really best one, IMO, is the Redding Competition neck sizer with interchangeable bushings. You can get exactly the amount of sizing you want, with zero runout.

Hello. I use Lee Collet and RCBS neck sitzer. The best way is trimming dies. I can to trimm (if it needs ) and necksitzing witch those dies. Kauko.
