I bought last weekend 80 rounds of 308Win 150gr FMJ, and today I bought another 80 rounds of 308Win 150gr FMJ.

Considering by the time I buy my M1A ammo prices can get higher (thanks to the copper prices) and Bass Pro here sells the ammo at 13$ per box (which sells for about 17$ here at other locations), last weekend I decided to buy some, they only had 4 boxes, so I bought all 4, today I went in and they agian only had 4 boxes so I bought them out agian today.

Is this wrong of me ??

I heard at Gander the other day, that ammo is going up by 15-20% in the USA., and sense Canada and the United States are pretty much joined at the hip, I'm sure that your prices will hit the roof also.

I find myself short on .45 Long Colt brass for reloading, and have to decide weather to by some brass, or get my brass by buying factory loads instead.
Knowing that I was looking for a Cowboy pistol, I should have done what you did, and gone out and purchased the loads before they went up.

I keep hearing these price increases but they are hard to predict since the main price increasing item of the ammo is the copper and thats not easy to predict commodity prices.

I got from another board that the ammo used to be 6.50$ US in '94, now its 12$ US so in 13 years it only went up 90%, which means it went up 3.25$ more then inflation.

Nobody will say it openly, but the conventional wisdom is that our soldiers need more ammo to shoot the bad guys, thus, a little less ammo for us guys.
If I knew that for every extra $10.00 that I spent on ammo, it would send another bad guy to Allah, I'd take out a loan to buy more.

The shortage for the War effort seems to be the lack of US military surplus leaving the plants/stocks like it used to, Federal seems to be able to do a good job to balance the load between them running the goverment plants and their commercial ammunition manufacturing as did Remington when they ran the goverment ammunition plants they built for the Government.

I don't buy military surplus anyways (hard to get here generally speaking) so it doesn't effect me.

No, you are not wrong, just planning ahead.
However, you can get ahead of yourself as I did. I bought a bag of 100 pieces of 338 RUM brass and 338 RUM dies and five boxes of 338, 225gr bullets intending to build a 338 RUM gun. The key is, I had not built the gun, yet. Then decided not to build the gun after I built my 338WM/7mmRM switch barrel gun. So, unless you have a 308 now, you might have a few rounds and no gun in the future.

If someone needs 338 RUM brass and Redding dies I have them.

Interesting, no plans for any RUM myself, rather not deal with the recoil.

I had bought 500rds of turk surplus before I got my mausers, wished I'da gotten more now.

1895ss, sounds good to me, think I'll buy some gas till I can git the car, wait I've gotta car, never mind!! Better yet, buy the tires, build yer own car then git the license, OOKY!!.

Don't mention drivers licnses I still need to do that one.

But the ammo I'm conisdering a investment.

By the way I went to Bass Pro on the way home today and picked up another 40 rounds of the stuff so now I got 200rounds of it.

I also made another stop and picked up a hamster, my bank account I dont think is going to be liking this.

My wife brought a hamster home for Christmas Vacation one year. Like I said, she is a teacher, so we had to baby sit the thing.
The smell of that piece of rodent was BAD, and I kept the cage clean.
