I do know of another in here with a voracious way of speaking with a cornucopia of witty phrases. in english and cunuckastanian.

My goodness, now there's a bombastic display of eloquence if ever I saw one. On the strength of that I think I might pop off to bed and soliloquize to myself.

Well said Gelan. Actually, the Aussie form of the English language is called Strine, although the term Strine actually refers more to our vocal "sense of humour".

A Guide to Strine

*fakes a Aussie accent* Well Vince my mate, hows the Aussie Strine over there in woop woop ?? I do believe I'm a not the full quid & I'm a dag, but I just might make a quid even though I don't yakka now. Which making a quid might just be important as what kind of sheila would even bother with a not tall poppies bloke like myself. Laughing

Sorry couldn't help myself Haha :haha:

Anyawys, seems to me quite a few of those Aussie terms are used over here as well based on that list. Laughing

Yep, he's being as fair dinkum as one can expect, although he is far too intelligent to be "not the full quid" and I wouldn't call him a dag....thats a bit ordinary. Shocked Laughing

But, yep, its all good over here in woop woop....but we could sure use some rain.

Cheers, Vince

Yeah Vince...I was noticing on the news that your throat might be a bit parched and your tongue might look a bit like a dry lake bed these days...

Dimitri, yes it is raining here at East coast, but problem is the rain don't go far enough inland to where our dams are.
So beside giving our lawn some water, it does practically nothing to the drought.

Ah, I don't really know the weather patterns in Australia I got to admit. Smile But my comment on raining is that its raining here right now, in Toronto Canada. Laughing

Well hopefully there will be some rain in the interior of Australia in that case Gelan. Smile

My home brew is maturing nicely.....good to drink now, be better in a month though. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

You are right there Gelan.....rain just isn't falling in our catchment areas for some reason. The Wivenhoe Dam in Brisbane is down towards 15%-16% capacity...not good.

Mate,
I been to Manilla (North of Tamworth www.walkabout.com.au/l...illa.shtml ) this Easter past.
Manilla used to be (and still is) called a Freshwater Fisherman's Paradise.

Guess what, Split Rock Dam in Manilla is down to its creek bed...
I was counting on taking some water from the dam for baths, and end up with 3 days worth of body stink Shocked because I could not get to water. What water we brought with us is used to wash the missus and daughters.....
But then again, a manly man like myself don't need to smell like flowers Very Happy
