Just a reminder for all of you that its 10 days away (Next Wensday).
Better to take 5 minutes and get a gift then lisen about how you forgot for a year I'd imagine, never went through that myself. Joy's of being currently single.

Not looking for a card.
Never understod valentines day myself. How I figure it if you have a special someone and dont show to them that they are special everyday but instead wait one day a year you got bigger problems then giving her a card and flowers one day a year.
But ya know out of 4032 members I figured someone could use a reminder before they got introuble with the missus.

Kinda one sided...And how would you know Big "D"...You have no practical experience on the subject...

I'm with you Bushy. I'm gettin my first Grandchild in June and I feel that Grampa's and Grandma's need some special recognition. After all, these "kids" wouldn't be where they are with out us.

Congrats...You won't believe the fun you'll have with your grandchild. You get to be the good guy for a change. Your children will say, "Dad wasn't that nice when we were kids."
I have 6 grandchildren. My 14 year old grand daughter and I have a special bond. She can tell me anything she wants and I don't tell anybody including her parants and grandma...I'm her sounding board because I don't criticize or preach and only give advice when asked...

My wife knows what I think of Valentine's Day.
I think that Hallmark invented it.
She does want to go to our favorite Italian supper club, so, as I waddle out of Veciao's, on Valentine's, full of GOOD Italian food, the dumb holiday might just be worth it.

It is so relieving to see that others be leave in allowing the youth to fail so that they can learn. I get so fed up with Parents that do everything for their child and don't allow them to come to grips with reality. falling a couple times on the way up is what starts us on the right path.
I know that it is hard to watch them fall when you know that what they are doing isn't wise or even remotely intelligent, but to allow them to grow and not take responsibility for their actions is even harder for me. Guess that will always make me the oger...
and as for the 14th....my Missus has managed to dig us so far in the hole over xmas that it may be another 6 months before our new budget(ie my money) can afford to go out or buy frivolous things. But thanks for the heads up Dimitri.
Matt

... 'emme tell some o' ya'll somethin'. Kids an' grand kids is fine... I wish I had some grandkids... but that little lady that picks up after you, does your laundry, cooks your meals and gets up to roll your sorry ass outta bed after Superbowl Sunday is worth way more than a frikkin' card... usually two days late!!!
If things are tight, hock just one of them $500.00 to gazillion dollar "have to have" TOYS in the gun cabinet and TAKE THAT WOMAN OUT TO DINNER!!!
The Ladyrum has stuck by me through thick and thin (a hell of a lot of thin) for over 30 years now. If you lot don't know what Valentines day is about... ask! I'll rant some more!
