yes bushy, a 30-30 win revolver made by magnum research under the model BFR. www.magnumresearch.com...e=BFR30-30
is the website for it.
and I'm knowing what your saying dave. The only single shot afordable rifles and shotguns are NEF, Rosi, Charles Daily. and I'm not sure that all those are made in the states. would be nice to be able to aford a decent stack gun with out blowing over $1k on it.

Well put Bushy. And I have to agree on the comments on Savage, accuracy and affordable out of the box. You can still buy Savage's with front sights!

It would be purchased with the intent to analize the frame, maybe make improvements, and then use those improvements to design and make 2 or 3 custom carbines. I know a lot of work and money for something like that, but why do it the easy way when I can do it the hard way and end up with two extra firearms instead of just one?

That's great...You go for it bodyalter...But what about that .30-30 revolver...?? Could you tell me who in their right mind would buy a revolver in that cartridge? And just what would you use it for?
You brought it up bodyalter...So let's go for it...What is your swing on this .30-30 10" barreled revolver? I saw the link, but one of my legs is still startin' to grow...

Someone might buy a 30-30 Revolver to only have one type of ammo to have stock for for both their rifle and handgun I guess Bushmaster.

I know how much recoil a .30-30 winchester rifle has. I can just amagin the recoil on that and it would not be the same as a TC Encore or equivalent...
4.36 lbs That's the same as my Mod 94...Or there abouts.

bodyalter: my opinion of Charles Daly, when discussing the newer offerings, is that they are simply capitalizing on what was once a very respected name. Whether it be the current offerings of shotguns, handguns or rifles, their sole appeal is cost. They have high warranty/return rates.
Remington's foray into the world market with Baikal (Spartan) and Zastava (Mauser 98s) has produced some quality that is substandard, too. Handle them and form your own opinion, however, IMO your money is best spent on other models.
There is a strong relationship between money spent and long term satisfaction. Perhaps, rather than stretch your firearm budget to accomodate numerous items, you may be ahead in the long run to spend more on fewer items of higher quality.

I am very aware that the buyer gets what he pays for. If I was to pay $250 for a shotgun, I know that I shouldn't expect more than $250 worth of use. And in this day and age that isn't that much. I do agree with that. Please don't think that I'm a snot nosed kid with out an idea of reality. I just want to make a very informed decision.
With that being said, I am also the owner of a Mosberg 500 that was new in the mid '70s. This shot gun has been on many hunts, and many rounds of skeet and trap. It really isn't much of a gun. It isn't super high quality. I know that if I had a benilli, bereta or any of those high end shot guns I would feel that I had my moneys worth. But as far as where I'm coming from with the sub $500 shotguns is a firearm that will last me a few hunts as as main or secondary with back ups around. This is life and I know that if I don't plan for problems, I'm sure to be 900 miles away on a phesent hunt with a gun that doesn't work. but then I wont be one bit upset if it takes a tumble from the tail gate of the truck, or falls down a ravine with me and gets banged up. If I had spent $1400 on a shotgun, I don't know that I would ever take it farther than the trap range. For someone like me, that is about a months worth of pay.
now, as for the 30-30 BFR, wow. I really didn't think that I would get that type of response. Would I target shoot with it...yeah. I might even take it White tail hunting. how ever I don't see my self ever working up the red line loads with it. as far as who in there right mind would buy it? well It is offered in their product catalog so there must be some nerve deadened thrill seeking masochistic person out there who wants one. If I do end up doing the carbine thing, and this would be some time in the future, I'll let ya all know. but for now, that revolver is on the back burner as a possibility for the future.
all in all I am a fairly normal person. I be leave in safety, consistency, perfect practice, and choosing a weapon that will fit the person and not making the person fit the weapon. But I am also a person of dreams and who feels that so long as I am not endangering myself or others, I should live life to experience, and learn the most I can. I hope that I didn't come off as a prick or sound as though I don't value all of your opinions, because I truly do. but I'm new enough here that you all don't really know me yet. hopefully this will change.
I really hope you all have a great day, and I hope I hit the enter key enough to keep the readers to the end. one last thing, what do you all think of those MEC 9000 progressive shotgun presses?
Matt

Gidday Bushy. I had a 10" BBL TC Contender in 30.30 and I loved shooting that pistol. I fitted a Pachmyar drip and forend and it was pleasant to shoot. Don't get me wrong....you knew you had hold of a big calibre handgun, but it wasn't uncomfortable. I introduced my eldest daughter to pistol shooting when she was 15 yrs old and she surprised everyone with her prowess at hitting the Turkeys at 150 yds on the sillouette range with the Contender.....shooting single handed too.
The only downside I encountered was after about 10-12 yrs of shooting a .357 MAG revolver and then 30.30 Contender I ended up with "Tennis Elbow" in my right arm and needed cortisone injections. The Dr said that recoil was to blame.
I reckon you would really enjoy shooting the BFR (we refer to it as the Big F*&%#@g Round Revolver).
Cheers, Vince
