Just wondering if anyone has tried the "barrel accessory program"?
You buy the gun than add barrels that are fitted to your action.

I started out with a NEF 223 heavy barrel on a SB-2 action. I sent the action and forearm in to the factory and had a 22 Hornet and a 243 heavy barrel fitted. Back then the triggers were 8 lbs or more so I had the lighten the trigger too. With those three items of work it took six weeks from mailing on my end to receiving the return package in the mail. All three shoot very well.
Do not swap barrels between actions. Some do it but I do not recomend it. Your barrels have the last numbers of the action serial number etched on them. If the numbers don't match on a used gun or barrel I would send it to the factory for proper fitting.

I started out with a H&R Handi Rifle in .243, they added .270, .45/.70, .50 cal muzzle loader.
To this I added all the shout gun barrels, from .410 to 12 ga.
I did this as a project, as I ended up with 10 guns for about $700 bucks.

Did buy a .223 Handi Rifle so as to have another "weapon platform".

Aslo did notice that it take a little looking on the H&R/NEF web site to fine the program now.???? But it's still there. Prices are up a little.

The cost of the barrels are on the provided link, this is the new list, little higher than when I did it a couple of years ago.

You pay the shipping, but the fitting and marking of the serial number on each barrel is included in the cost of the barrel.
Each barrel does have the same number on it when you get it back

Here I am trying to decide what my next purchase is going to be, and you throw 10 weapons for 700 dollars up in the mix. That's pretty cool, guess I've got more research to do now. Confused Let's see---10guns $700 vs. one gun $700> Very Happy Hell, this ain't rocket surgery!!!

Yeah, kinda cool, they are listing some new stuff.
So maybe a 22-250,.35 whelan, 7mm08 and maybe a .500 sw just for grins, for $340.
Oh what the heck lets add a .204 ruger and a .44 mag and make it just over $500.

Love shopping like this.

I forgot to mention that if you get a set of Leupold QRW rings you can use the same scope on the other barrels. That saves you a few more dollars. I feel the question coming.....no the point of impact is not the same from barrel to barrel but you can start a record of corrections for each barrel.

hunter63;

What are the chances of getting a couple pics of that powder horn in the lower right of your pic of the rifles. It looks like a beauty!

popgun, that horn is from a longhorn, been kinda trying to decide what to do with it?

The gun case was built by Mr. Dowe in Keatchie, La. Weathered ceder.
Actually had it modified, as the bottom drawer was too big. (he cut it down to 1/2 height, overnite, as I had to drag it home to WI).

He had built it with a higher drawer in the bottom, but since he did own any guns the area for the rifles was too short for most guns.
It had been sitting in his shop for a while, so the price was VERY good>(actually cost me more for the U-Haul trailer to get it home.)

I wanted it for the width to mount the extra barrels, lengthwise.
Dimensions: w 32" X h 68" X d 12" on top, 18" on the bottom(w/ drawer.)
His shop;
