Gil your site goes to the same serial # as the one I posted. What did they or are they using to date them after that? Bushy can likely tell us ........... Smile

Dallan, best wishes for you and your family. I love those old guns too, I have a mod. 94 in 30-30,( 1972) and an older mod.94 win. 32 special (pre 64) I got from my dad. I'll have to check out the date it was made, I know it was before 64, because he bought it new in the early 60's. I think I was 5 years old when he got it...1960. as I was told. Lets see a pic of your gun..

I was wrong...the 32win. was made in 1953...

Dallan, You have our most heart felt condolences. May he walk with our Lord Jesus In his time of passing.

Regardless of it's value, cherrish that rifle. I would place it over the mantle piece.

My father in law has terminal cancer, he litterally is in his last week or so. Tonight he decided to give away his few belongings and he gave my wife his 30-30, a gun given to him by his dad. I'd like to know when it was manufactured.

Its a Winchester Model 94, Serial #3425429. Mechanically the rifle seems in fine shape yet I know its had a history with alot of use. Alot of blueing is worn off due to a saddle scabbard.

If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it.
