I don't know about Noslers in this caliber because I use Speer 160gr. PSP almost exclusively, and with excellent results. I push them along with IMR4831 63.0grs. In my Remington 700BDL it gives me 2900fps. and groups around .7" (5 at 100yds). I'm quite happy with it. Best wishes.

I used IMR4831 for many years (around 23) but have found that H1000provides better velocity and accuracy in my rifle.

I use a little bit bigger bullet in mine. I like the 175 grain Grand Slams and I drive them with 63.5 grains of the IMR-4831. My gun likes them and they go out at about 2835 FPS. I've switched all of my larger caliber loads to the IMR-4831. They all just seem to like that slower burning powder and it's easier on the gun with the lower cup pressures.

If you can find some H-870 try it with WW brass and Fed 215 primers. Start at 78 gr and work up to 80.5 + gr. One Ruger 77 gave 3070 fps with the 160 Nosler partition in cold weather @ 80.5 -another grain did nothing for velocity but was too compressed and the Sd went up drastically. Remember that this is a surplus powder with lot varations and work up loads carefully. Another Ruger 77 got 2920 but shot in one hole at 100 yds .The same powder works for 175 gr Nosler also. I used a .025 jump to the lands with this.
