That Lisa is something special...she could paddle my Waka anyway ... One heck of a performance and she helped lift the other lasses too. Feel for our other k1 specialist, she had a bad day at worst possible time. Hopefully she can win the mind games before next paddle. Some awesome performances over many different sports.proud to be a K1W1

Ahhh…we’re talking about Olympic Kayak competition …you had me thinking there for a minute mate…a Waka is actually a KIWI canoe - Waka tīwai or small canoe as opposed to the Waka taua - war canoe.
I haven’t been watching the Olympics, especially since they included break dancing as a sport…bloody ludicrous, especially by the Australian “breaker”. What’s next…advanced cigarette and cigar smoking, blowing fancy smoke rings!!! Nope, the Olympics has lost its appeal to me, although traditional sporting activities, swimming, athletics etc are still a drawcard. Fortunately, they can’t include moronic “sports” in the Winter Olympics, making them good to watch.

IMHO.
Olympic sports are mostly derived from warfare and as far as I know all of them are used to be practice of movement historically used in fighting or war.
And that includes rhythmic gymnastic where the graceful movement are derived from what could be considered as "kata".
In martial arts a lot of movements are trained into the muscle by repetition and smooth transition, this is valid in almost every type of martial arts discipline.
This year break dancing is one that is a bit out of the norm.
while it is not a traditional sport, they do require high muscle control and coordination.
I do believe the origin of break dancing is derived from martial arts movement called capoeira mixed with some other more interesting movements from other style of martial arts.
That silly woman made a joke of it all with her 3 years old toddlers style.

In all honesty…there should be a gang of real men waiting for these gutless so-called Trans MEN to step out of the ring; ready to show them what it feels like to be beaten senseless by a real man…then introduce them to Mr Slugger the baseball bat, over and over.
Seriously though, if these sick individuals who call themselves Trans are hell bent on competing in sport, they should have their own competition, competing only against other sick in the head Trans fools.

I must admit, I can see many of the break dancing moves in the Capoeira style of martial arts, and remember, break dancing was supposedly introduced as a form of “fighting” between two or more groups or gangs.
Unfortunately though, the debacle of break dancing in this year’s Olympics was exactly that…a debacle, with this raygun making an outright fool of herself and embarrassing Australia as a whole. I can’t think of a better reason to replace break dancing with something like Artistic Cigar Smoking or competitive Mud Pie making in future Olympics. Hang on, how about Artistic Hair Braiding…now there’s a “sport” in which people could really get wrapped up.

Gelandagan mate...the origins of break dancing can from the street kids, back in the early 80s sniffing glue was favoured way to get stoned,it completely rooted a fair few brain cells. The next big thing was huffing paint aerosols in a bag. How break dancing originated was due to a mix up of cans one dark night. Instead of paint a can of Black flag fly spray was inhaled.... Next time you spray the blowflies watch when they hit window sills and you will see it's true.

Vince...in these troubled times the trans community thing....well it's a thing. PERSONALLY I would like to see them included in Olympic sports but in the other ones where people's different physical abilities/disabilities are taken into account to level the playing field. I mean it's where athletes who have had a leg chopped off compete...so those who have whacked off or added on other appendages would not be excluded, dissadvanged or hold unfair advantage...I truely believe that would be fairest all around.

While it is true that most of the participants of break dancing are generally druggies or gang bangers, you got to admit that it took skills, stamina, strength and coordination to do them well.

You are right in that some of the moves in break dancing do take skill, coordination and strength to execute mate, but realistically it is not an Olympic event…it is “dancing”, better suited to a Dancing Competition…maybe Dancing With The Stars.
As an aside…you’re not a closet Break Dancer are ya mate?

You fellas crack me up. Agree Vince, that's why Paralympics is ideal place.and that weight lifter is national discrace. So many K1W1s think that way too. It's why the Paralympics came to mind. It used to be polite to say differently abled instead of disabled. So yes they do fit in.
