Had the grendal at the farm as well. Still trying different things with it. Its main load it likes is a 85gr sierra hp and 2217 at 2990fps. I tried some 90gr speer tnt and win 748 it was accurate but only doing 2550fps not sure if thats good velocity but ive run out of speers and being that 6.5 is getting hard to get ill stick to the other load..

northdude, what barrel length do you have? I've not heard of velocities that high in a Grendal.

Is 2217 a Western Powder? It wasn't listed in their load data and your velocity exceeds their other powders for the Grendel.

Grendel loads are typically limited to 51-52K in ARs due to week bolts and brass. Your bolt gun may be able to handle more pressure.

I built a Uintah 6.8 bolt gun but haven't focused on developing loads for it yet.

Sounds like a keeper. You are fortunate to achieve a higher velocity with an 19" barrel as ADI did with a 24" barrel and more powder charge.

Methinks it’s a keeper mate.

I don't complain too much at anything under an inch at 100 yards. Consistent groups and first round impacts are all ya need. Smile

To build confidence in my rifle and its loads, shoot a 10-shot group. But not what you think. I shoot 2 shots from a cold barrel, take the target down, then shoot two more shots at the same target at a different time. After repeating this process over multiple times in different weather conditions, I find out the true accuracy of my rifle/loads.
