Working up loads for a new, to me, cartridge .357/.44 bain & davis. Found a load on the ADI powders site, but I don't think I can find that powder here (not that many are available now a days). It shows an ADI powder number AR2205. There is not a listed Hodgdon equivalent on the ADI site. Was thinking some of y'all would be more familiar with the ADI powders. Where in a relative burn rate chart of US available powders would AR2005 fall?

Most the loads I find are suggesting IMR4227, H110, or Alliant 2400. How would AR2205 fall with these?

The list I have shows H4227 as the same powder. I checked on both of my lists and they both show H4227 the same as AR2205.
The powder is still listed on the Hodgdon reloading site so I assume it is still available.

Like.358’s...4227 and AR2205 are the same powder, manufactured here in the DownUnder by Thales/ADI. Back when I was shooting pistols, I used to load .357 Mag with 2400, but changed over to 2205 for a couple of reasons, one being it was cheaper to buy ADI powders in Australia.

The load data should be interchangeable without any problems...starting of course with reduced loads and working your way up whilst watching for pressure signs. I don’t think you will be disappointed with the powder...ADI produce high grade, high quality powders.

Thanks Paul, Just found a link to a different chart on the ADI site that shows powder approx (5%) equivalents as H/IMR4227 and H110. Link is up in the sticky! Thanks y'all, really good info here

Thanks Vince, Got H110 and A2400 on hand. Looking for 4227, but alas, none in stock except at $100/pound on the auction sites.

H110 is a good powder for full magnum loads but it doesn't do well with reduced charges. My 357s like it at just below the full charge too. It is the most accurate powder I have found for real magnum loads but I don't even try to control the recoil at that point. If the first shot is accurate you don't need a follow up. That 140 grain bullet travels at 1599 fps and gives me a 20 round group inside five inches at 50 yards. When my eyes were younger I could hold it to four inches - all off hand shooting from a standing unsupported hold.
