I think the U.S A. has an Addiction Scratch ... Quite a few firearms sold here over the last couple of years Sniper

Quote"On the heels of the 3,931,607 background checks in June, the most ever in the 14-year history of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the FBI on Monday said that July checks totaled 3,639,224, the third-highest monthly total ever. March saw the second-highest ever at 3,740,688."

Not an addiction mate...I think good folk are seeing the “writing on the wall” and feel that the need for personal protection is on the horizon.

Maybe James Madison was clairvoyant, or knew someone who made solid predictions, after “seeing” the current crop of Dems.

Pandemics and lock downs do funny things.
The English and Aussies bought toilet paper.
The Germans bought sex toys.
The Americans bought guns.

There is a phd thesis in there for someone.

how are you folks going with sour dough bread???? that was another fad.
shops sold out of flour because folks had panic bought bread so other folks thought they would bake some..... it was a merrygoround for a time till folks realised shops wouldnt run out...still same number of mouths to feeds and arses to whipe and factories to make stuff for both needs.

Vitamin C is the latest product that is hard to find. If you do the cost has tripled.

The future belongs to those who prepare for it. We have a Second Amendment and are learning to be more self-reliant. All the best...

I dont know why gun sales would rise on the heels of calls to "Disband the Police" ... lol.

BTW, 12GA buckshot is crazy hard to find in the states. I got lucky and scored a few boxes of #4 Buck, a box of #00 Buck and couple boxes of #000 Buck. I felt like I needed a bit more than I already had.

I know a few farmers who raise wheat, and there will definitely be a reduce crop by this fall. I was told personally by one friend who said "quietly stock up on all you can, its going to get bad this fall".

We've been slowly buying 10lb bags, putting it into 1gal ziplocks then freezing it for 10 days. That is supposed to kill any bug larvae allowing for longer storage. IDK if there will really be a shortage this winter, but I do know we just had one... and I'd rather have too much flour than run out.

You can always look at casting buckshot yourself mate. No more difficult than casting rifle bullets, except you have to separate the pieces of shot as it casts in a string of 3 pieces.

The problem here wasn't a shortage of flour, it was a shortage of flour in small bags & the capacity to package it that way.
That was something else I didn't worry about, as I usually have around 30-40lb of bread flour to hand.

That reminds me - I need some more .243 bullets before they become unavailable.
