I have always had hearing difficulties, but for at least a couple of weeks now I have been more deaf than usual.
Wondering what is going on, I put in my barrel scope into my left ear and found out that my eardrum has perforated!!
Pretty scary looking there - it has split in two !
Dont know why it happens, there is no pain or discomfort other than being deaf.
Perhaps it is because I blow my nose too hard a few days ago when I was working on my warehouse and it got a bit dusty??
Gone to the doc yesterday and was told to keep it dry and hopefully it would heal itself in a few weeks.

So.. thats my news of the week.. stay safe and sane.

Sneezing
Never a good thing.
What did the doc say when you told him how you found it?

remember: hearing not so well can have some advantages sometimes…

and you're lucky you didn't feel pain. I used to clean my ears myself till a few years ago, just spray all the durt out with water in a syringe… and something did go wrong causing simultaneously headache, toothache and pain in my ear, all on the same side of my head…
I now go to a nice doctor-specialist who vacuumcleanes my ears… Smile

My borescope is the cheap USB type that I bought from ebay, I have to put it in a drinking straw to get a clear straight-line view in the ear canal.
The doc was surprised when I sent him a clear photo of the problem, due to COVID they prioritise and stringently screen their patients and with this I can ensure for him to see me right away.
I was called again today and he asks me to start a course of antibiotic, just in case.

For all our sakes, please dont enlighten us about any upcomming proctology appointments, and definately no photos.
So apart from boredom and domestic deafness how are you and extended family going?

Well done Gelan. Fingers crossed your ear will come good very soon mate. I suffer from non-reversible work related hearing loss and tinnitus, so I feel for you mate.

LOL, rest assured I would not show you the ptotos.

My family and I are well, both girls are working from home and I got evicted from home because I turn on the TV too loud (due to my ear problem)
So nowadays I sort of stay at the workshop (6km from home) every day until the end of working hours. Nothing new Very Happy

Those are NIFTY!!! I have several, with different length cords. Most are as noted, really cheap... sub $10. I have a 15ft (5meter) one I use to run down plumbing pipes, or down walls when running electrical.

They will fit down the bore of larger rifles, I wish I could get one that fits down a .224" bore though.

Never used it in my ear though lol

Mine is really cheap chinese stuff, it was a 5.5 mm diameter at 1 meter long.
I got it for about AU$6 (US$4) including tax and posted.
