top photo is taken at about 700 yards,the thar were probably 400 yards off river bed we had just driven past, middle photo is looking up Rangitata river into the country we travelled, last photo is taken at LOOOOOONG range(close to 1 mile according to google earths ruler) from mistake flat hut across the river to other side...funny thing is one of our companions was in his truck at a hut about 400 yards from where these 3 were happily grazing!!!

didnt fire a shot...just enjoyed the drive up rocky river bed in a modern landrover.

sorry guys that came out too big...ctrl and - will fix that for you....... 30 seconds before this photo I was trying to ID what the orange blob was infront of me..then spotted a wallaby..I was lining up on it when my mate took photo....rather magic moment indeed went from one blob to what you see.
