Has anyone else noticed the funny smell and the light haze coming from the west lately?
I believe that makes 5 states with permitless carry.

I'm a tad confused by this. Are you allowed to simply go out, buy a pistol, then carry it concealed without any sort of permit? Or, is it a case of you must have a permit for open carry, but once authorised for open carry, you are now allowed to carry concealed without any further approval?
If it's a case of buy then carry without any sort of permit, I can see a lot of problems with criminals actually arguing they are within the law carrying concealed...until they commit an unlawful act (holdup, mugging etc) with said pistol.

I did a quick brief on Maine gun law. You must have a CWP to carry concealed, buy you can strap on and open carry without the permit. An exception appears to be carrying a loaded handgun in a vehicle. Must have a permit to do so. So theoretically, I am legally open carrying a handgun and as it does in Maine; it suddenly gets cold and my only outer wear is a Maine woodsman jacket that goes down to mid thigh, now I'm breaking the law.
As for criminals, they have all the help they need right now with liberal judges, and lawyers with little to no integrity.
But interestingly Maine's crime rate puts it in the top 10 safest places to live in the USA.

Permitless concealed carry means that you do not have th have a piece of paper or hard card to carry a concealed weapon on your person. 5 states have that law now. In Missouri you need to have a CCW permit to carry concealed and open carry. But you need no permit to have a loaded weapon in your vehicle

Vince,
With the new law that passed in Maine - when it goes into effect You do not need a permit to carry your gun openly or concealed. Their old law was that you could openly carry but not carry it concealed without the permit. The new law recognizes that the constitution does not require a permit to carry a gun under any circumstances so the new law is called "constitutional" carry.
As I understand it Maine is the 7th constitutional carry state - but if you are not a resident you need a permit. (that part I don't understand)

Thanks guys...that clarifies things. Damn I wish we were allowed to carry over here...too many older folk are now being bashed by younger, usually drug addicted mongrels, looking for money for their next ICE fix.
The following incident is not drug related (as far as is known) but it shows the lack of respect people have for the older members of society...
