My friend just received this gun (Model 39A) from his Grandpa's estate. Nobody knows anything about the gun. My friend asked me about the gun. I looked everywhere I know of to find out about this gun. NO LUCK! Can anyone help me out with the estimated year of production, est. value? This one has some wild inlay on the stock, was that factory, or did someone have to much to drink and got crazy with a knife?
Thanks!

Just Google "Stevens 39A" and you will come up with lots of hits.
