It looks like an engraving to me. The work is too fine for an acid etching.

Ok that is done by CNC mill out of tool steel hardened to 54 HRCThe stamp is made to imprint annealed steel or soft metal.

And Pete, I am not good at a hell lot of things, for example, following instruction, waiting for SWMBO to get ready, and cooking come to mind readily..

Mine is an old 1984 machine that come from a TAFE, Austrian made EMCO the machine can only do 500 program lines when I got it, I refurbish so the accuracy is now to 0.05mm and retrofit it to work with modern software. Now it can do unlimited lines, which is good coz the stamp above is made of over 1.6 million lines.

You are a wizard Gelan...give you an obsolete piece of equipment and you turn it into a modern up to date machine. Great work mate. Wish I had the ability to do things like that.
