I know we are all affected and sickened by this event. Its clear to me that there is a portion of the Black Community that have lost the concept of personal accountability and that there should be no consequences for their unlawful actions. Steal merchandise, disrespect and disobey a law officer, try to take a policeman's gun away, attack the policeman and fracture his skull, come back to attack the police officer again - yep there should be no consequences for those actions.

Thank you Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton - you haven't made the World a better place. We need some Black leaders who understand accountability to come forward. Doesn't seem to be any at the top.

I am not familiar with the nitty gritty of this case, but the question I must ask is...

"Why did the Police Officer shoot an unarmed man?"

There is obviously a lot more to this incident than we are being told. But whichever way, it is certainly a nasty occurrence.

Unarmed man robbed a store and was stopped for questioning. Suspect tried to take officers gun from him, shots went off inside the patrol car, and officer was beaten (cracked skull). The suspect came back to beat the officer some more. Clear thinking witnesses that happened to also be Black reported that the officer only shot when assailant was advancing toward him.

Thanks mate, that puts it in a whole different light than the headlines saying "Cop shoots unarmed kid".

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the shoot was a justified shooting.

Vince,

It is a tragedy for all involved but the evidence presented to the Grand Jury showed that the unarmed youth who was about 2 meters tall and weighed about 140kg had just committed a strong armed robbery at a local store and the officer who was responding to another call recognizes him and his accomplice and pulled his squad car up to them. As the officer opened his door to get out the un armed man shoved the car door shut and struck the officer and struggled while trying to get the officers side arm. The officer said he felt like a child trying to tackle Hulk Hogan and feared he would be severely injured or worse.

The struggle continues gun discharges and unarmed man is struck in the hand. His blood is inside of the car. The un armed man backs off about 25-30 feet and the officer exits the car and orders him to get down on the ground. Officer tells him to get back or he will shoot him. the unarmed man says "you are too big a Pu$$y to shoot me".

The unarmed man instead turns and moves toward the officer while reaching under his shirt. Officer fires and strikes him in the arm. Unarmed man stops briefly office cease firing. The un armed man lowers head and charges at the officer, officer returns fire and un armed man is struck in the head and killed 8-10 feet from the officer.

Several eye witnesses and an audio recording corroborate the officers story and the autopsy report and medical examination of the officer after the incident also supports this presentation of the events.

The problems started when the accomplice told the story that the un armed man was on his knees with his hands up saying don't shoot. Hence the "Hands up, don't shoot!" mantra of the protestors. The American media and our President rushed to judgment and had this officer indicted and on trial in the court of public opinion before the un armed man had reached room temperature.

One community leader turned that phrase in to "Pants up, Don't Loot!!" but I see his message was not taken.

The sad fact about the violent protests this summer and the continuing destruction of property overnight is that many of the trouble makers are not local residents. They came from all over the country to cause chaos and mayhem, stoked on by anarchists and professional race baiters posing as people in search of justice for the unarmed man.

Here is the takeaway message, Don't rob stores, do what you are told when dealing with police authorities and you will not get shot.

There was a 12 year old who had an air pistol who was reported as pointing it at people in a park in Cleveland. Officers ask him to put his hands up so they can approach him and instead he draws the pistol from his waistband and points it at the officers..... the kid is dead because he had taken the orange tip off of the pistol and did not listen to Police commands.

The media wants to make this a race issue. The numbers don't support the argument. The number of people of color who are murdered by whites and even a smaller fraction that are shot by white police officers pale in comparison to the number of black on black murders that occur. One source reports 97% black on black vs. 3% white on black.

If these community organizers want to make noise about something they should look in the culture and the community and make the changes that will lower the number who participate in criminal activity and lower the 1-3 probability that a black male will be incarcerated by the age of 30.

I trust the process of the grand jury a lot more than I would that of the mobs burning businesses and police cars in the streets. All the best...

There was no cracked skull folks. He was hit several times however he was not harmed that greatly. I understand that he feared for his life however police officers are trained to apprehend criminals with out using their firearm first and from the evidence there is no proof he attempted to do so. I am not saying Brown was innocent but I think if we are going to have chicken shit cops in this country we would be better off without cops altogether.

Not harmed that greatly?

You were there and saw what happened?

Were you on the Grand Jury and privy to all the physical evidence, and did you listen to all the conflicting testimony?

Of the 12 people who did see and hear all all the evidence and testimony none found any reason to call for the officer to be charged with any of 5 potential charges from first degree murder to involuntary manslaughter.

Of course they probably think we still need some "chicken shit cops".

Are there bad cops, stupid cops, racist cops, foolish cops, yes just as there are bad, stupid, racist, and foolish people.

I spent 15 + tears in law enforcement and we were taught the perimid of use of force, which starts with talking-command-physical-then deadly force.
to protect your self or any bystander from bodily harm and if you as an leo
fear of harm from ( size - weapon -or situation ) to use deadly force until the threat is stoped. That's why we all are taught to shoot center mass. I always planed on going home at the end of my shift....

Obama "people have legitimate grievances"
Do they? well after prosecuting before the facts are placed in front of you, I guess you could come to that conclusion, but from a president of the United States? someone with a constitutional perspective? a legal perspective? No , that's coming from an impotent president with a community riot organizer background, an Al Sharpton background. The press was no help either ramping up the countdown to the final second of the jury's decision and all the scenarios they offered and ever imagined. The president would love this to be all about race. He gets no blame though, the criminal justice system gets blamed, law enforcement gets blamed, the local political system gets blamed, the mayor and the prosecutor, even the Republican legislature gets blamed.

CNN reported that the stepfather of the "gentle giant" went out to protesters who were burning a business and told them to "burn the bitch down", the same guy that had a press interview telling everyone to be non-violent and he didn't want his son to have died in vane. Sort of has two meanings I guess...

It's easy to be an armchair quarterback, however, until such times as you have been in a position of authority and a situation develops where an individual refuses to accept your authority, you can't understand or know what you would do. If said individual has the wherewithal to do you a great mischief, as this one did by virtue if his size and demeanour, and he attacks, two things kick in...self preservation and your training. To label this LEO as a "chicken sh1t cop" is a pretty harsh statement mate...he was defending not only his own life, but also society from someone who was intent if causing harm.

Hopefully the professional agitators will be indentified and dealt with for inciting the riots.

It is sad to have a life taken.
Whose fault it is? who knows, all we hear are hearsay that are most likely being exaggerated to skew perspective or solicit sympathy.

But regardless of it, the riot in Ferguson have nothing to do with injustice.
It is only an excuse latent criminal uses to justify their desire to own things that do not belong to them, or to break things.
Either way the way they express their grievances are criminal.
