Bergdahl was ashamed to be an American, was awol from his unit, members of Bergdahl’s platoon in Afghanistan said he was a “deserter” and that soldiers died while trying to track him down and return him. His father claimed that his son is having a hard time understanding English after 5 years in captivity so he addresses his speech (wearing a long beard) in Pashto. Ok am I wrong to believe there's something amiss here? And all so that 5 senior high ranking Taliban officials could go free and fight some more. Previously released Taliban prisoners have returned to the battlefield. So now it sets a precedence that we'll negotiate with terrorists (breaching a US policy) and in the most bizarre way not even letting anyone know ahead of time.....like congress (as required by law). Is there something I'm missing here? None of this makes sense and it sure as heck is a calculated means for something, it's just too insane for me to grasp that there's a good reason to be so casual.

No Suz...I don't think you are the only one who thinks something doesn't smell quite right mate.
I haven't seen much on the news about his release other than a couple of pictures of a guy who looks like a muslim and a comment about him not being able to speak English well... you NEVER forget your mother tongue, your first language...even if you try!
I am happy for the family that they have their son back, but there is a LOT more to this one than meets the eye...and I won't even go into the release of the taliban terrorists (it STINKS to high heaven).

The photos of the terrorists looks like a hollywood makeup artist was having a good day. One guy is looking sideways. It's just laughable how terrible and mean and nasty these guys look, as if they were picked out of central casting as the worst of the worst. They should be in jail just for looking like trouble. Then the father of the son that gets released starts out speaking some middle eastern language (cause his son somehow can't remember his native language). All while Obama looks on in pride....I'm beside myself with this overt display and now every American that leaves the US is going to be a target for ransom so they can get themselves back on their marry way to destruction and terrorism (like the good ole days). I've said before (and was wrong) that this should surely be the end of Obama, but he's on his way out anyway, and hopefully with the entire endorsement of the US population (with stoning on our minds).
As usual the media will (slightly) only cough a little over this infraction of freedom because, after all, Bergdahl was in bad health and we had to get him outa there somehow. No man left behind, and that includes deserters who denounce the US......Really..........? the Hillary thing will surely go away, now that we have something more heinous to ponder.

I'm having a real problem here. Which one is the traitor and which one is the deserter? Or are obami and bergdahl both of them.

I doubt that the U.S. can keep track of five terrorists when they could not keep track of 2,500 weapons that they allowed to cross the border into Mexico. Looks like we do not know how to negotiate very well. All the best...

The five terrorist would have been released in about a month anyway so bambam decided to sell it as a trade for the "American" serviceman. Now he (bambam) has a red star in his "diplomatic" portfolio that he can point to as "a job well done" even though it opens the door to more kidnapping and higher ransoms.
This would be one of the best clown acts in the world if it wasn't actually happening.

Just found out he wasn't a deserter, he was just waiting for an appointment at the VA. Is it a coincidence that the prez was getting in hot water about the running of the VA and then he comes up with the rescue of the last prisoner of war (to make it look like he cares about the military) albeit he doesn't have a clue about military justice or honor or fingernail polish.

Bergdahl, do you know what really happened? Do you really know why and how he was captured? I don’t and all I am hearing is a lot of political rhetoric from the left and the right. I do not know the truth, and I suspect that I never will. Right now I am happy that he gets to return home to his family, if it turns out that he is or has been an Islamic sympathizer and winds up being a human bomb then I will change my opinion. Do I think Obama did the right thing, NO. Do I think he broke the law, YES. Do I think it matters, Yes. But, maybe not for the same reason you do. Whenever a President breaks the law (does anything that is not his right to do under our Constitution) and Congress does not nullify the action the action becomes an historic right of the President, a little known but very powerful aspect of our judicial system. Labor Unions have been using this for years.
IMHO this is nothing more than another political sideshow to distract the overwhelming majority of ignorant Americans from what the Government (ours and yours) is really doing: IE, spying on everything you do or say supposedly to keep you safe from terrorists, grabbing land and water rights, sending a hundred armed agents out to round up a couple hundred head of cattle because of a turtle (in 65 years I have never seen a turtle trampled by a cow, however I am very sorry to say that I have seen far too many turtles squashed in the road by carless or stupid drivers) and oh my goodness giving the evil giant corporation Monsanto free rein in America (Monsanto Protection Act Signed by Obama, GMO Bill “Written By Monsanto” Signed Into Law), www.thenation.com/blog...hy-wont-us . I suspect that is because we are not dying fast enough and that if we don’t eat more GMO food to help us die sooner the complete fallacy of Obama-Care will be far to evident.
I am sick and tired of our Government (and the liberal media) turning the USA into a third world country, and even sicker of the majority of Americans that are too ignorant to see and hear what is going on. If you live in another country and don't like America or Americans I DON"T REALLY CARE, you are either ignorant (which with substantial work can be cured, or stupid which is not curable and are waste of the air and other vital resources the rest of us need). If you think the USA is evil; that maybe we invented hatred, and slavery, and are using more than our share of the earth’s resources, you know nothing about history or truth. The USA did not invent slavery it has been rampant throughout the world and the USA learned all it needed to know from Britain, ask the Australians, the Irish and the Scots, and many other ethnicities about British slavery and teriney. Ask any Middle Eastern about selling slaves, butchering people or hatred. Ask Austria, Kosovo and Bosnia about hatred. Hatred, for 10,000 years people in the Middle East and elsewhere have hated their neighbors and done their best to kill them off, don’t believe me, pick up a book, but just remember the victor writes history. So you might have to read between the lines or read something from a disinterested third party. But, wow have our politicians learned to promote hatred, and racism, and division. And, is there money to be made promoting it – you bet millions. And, power!!!!
The USA has made more than its far share of mistakes (butchering Native Americans out of greed and lust, allowing slavery, turning our Government over to Big Business and other countries, taking George Soros’s money, turning the education of our children over to the Federal Government) and our Government and politicians are as evil and corrupt as anywhere else in the world. But, our people have saved the world in two world wars and fed billions of starving people, and given more money to other countries than any other nation in the history of the world. Unfortunately, those days are gone; by and large the USA has forgotten God, Jesus and the Ten Commandments and people are more concerned about where marijuana is legal, if a man can marry a man, and how far into a pregnancy can we kill the baby.
Welcome home Bergdahl, I sincerely hope you will be safe and happy and that you recover from your captivity soon. I don’t believe that another 5 Islamic terrorists out in the world will amount to more than a hill of beans, what really frightens me is my own government.
