Our local Cabelas had 50! Cans of IMR 4350 friday, I couldnt believe it. That was all they had unfortunately (besides a couple cans of BMG they've had for a year).
Loke helped me score a couple cans of H4350 before Christmas, at the rate we shoot that up, its a years worth so I didn't buy any. I'd really like to find some TAC.

Our local Cabela's had an 8 lb. container of IMR 4350 for at least a couple of weeks. The last time I was there it was gone but they had quite a few 1 lbs. containers. They've had bunches of primers for 2 or 3 months.

Last weekend our CAbela's in N TX had only a few 1 lb containers of powder. Lots of primers but no magnum primers. Bullet selection is better but still only about half the normal supply.

DS...I am casting 150gn GC flat nose bullets for my 30.30 and my shooting mate casts 160gn GC, 170gn GC, 180gn GC and 200gn GC in .30 cal. I use Trail Boss for light loads in the 150gn, 160gn and 170gn and use PROMO for the 180gn. The alloy we use for these bullets is either 6% Sb, 2% Sn and 92% Pb (close to Lyman #2) or pure Linotype, depending on the calibre and speed we want to push them.
You will get a lot of fun, that is nice and cheap, by using the Trail Boss loads. I am going through the process of sorting out a load for the 150gn cast...10.5gn to 10.9gn seems to be where the sweet spot is hiding.
Only time I use AR2208 (Varget) these days is when I load the Winchester 150gn PPFN jacketed bullet, although I am thinking of experimenting with Varget for the cast bullets as well.

I checked the local Sportsmans Warehouse recently and was surprised to see a little powder on the shelves (but not what I'm looking for of course). For the longest time all they had was 6 cannisters of Hodgdon H50BMG. This time they had a few cannisters of Alliant Reloder 15, Reloder 25, and Steel. A few cannisters of IMR 4064 and 7828. And I think Hodgdon H414 along with the same H50BMG.
Hopefully it means there is light at the end of the tunnel...or maybe just a train speeding my way.

They would be selling a massive quantity of powder if we all shot the .50

There is a range officer at my range who owns a .50 BMG (appears to be a Barrett, but I've never looked closely). He will sometimes bring it to the range and set it up in one of the bays if it isn't too crowded that day. When people come up and admire it more often than not he will offer to let them fire it. An enormous BOOM! issues from the rifle and can be heard across the entire range.
I've always been tempted to go and admire it so as to get the offer to fire it, but I never have due to the fact that I know that everytime he lets a stranger pull the trigger he gets about $5 poorer...
.50 BMG is too rich for my blood.
