Nope, 5 shots at 100. Not one of my better groups.
Bushy, I think you need more hold-over than that if you want your .30-06 to be dead-on at 300.
Digging it deeper every day!

No...With the load I'm using 2" should be just right. 57 grains of H4831SC under a 165 grain Sierra HPBT. Runnin' at 2645 fps.
I don't own a shovel...Do you?

I used to be a [dark] redhead, but now I am a blonde. All because of a daughter. The four boys sure didn't cause it.

Those targets are various groups at various distances. The 600 yard stuff I shoot is done one at a time with spotters in the pits at the targets so you only see one hole at a time.
The top is a $160 Taurus 82 police buy back that looks like ten miles of bad road. First five shots with 148 HBWC at 7 yards. Good investment.
The second if of my first perfect score in a 200 yard rapid fire sitting string. 10 shots in 60 seconds with a reload from standing to sitting position.
The third is my coyote hunting load. one shot under the paster. Slight adjustment - three shots under an inch at 200 yards. This is the only one of thee targets shot with any optics.
The two on the bottom are a nice day I had earlier this fall and the relaxation after the shooting was done.
I shot a Kimber 82G smallbore rimfire at 100 yards - 20 shots in the target on the left 197-200.
The target on the right is the first ten shots out of a spanking new White Oak .223 AR upper. They come pretty well zeroed at 100 yards... 98 /100 is Highmaster score any day. This is the scaled simulated 600 yard target. Just no wind to read.
Looking at this today - I see I let one slip out at 4:00 in both of those groups. need to tighten that up. Any iron sight shooters know what I did on those shots? One of Vince's beers around the campfire if you know. ( I am pretty sure I can diagnose that error.)

Bushy, the Hornady Ballistic Calculator calculates that load should be 6.5" high to be on at 300 yards. 2" high at 200 yards places it on at 225 yards.
Here is my target from yesterday's range session. Yep, this targe is a 50-yard zero from my hunting 6.8mm that I built that morning. This places it a half inch low at 200 yards. Shot different bullets at 200 yards then picked the one I want to use on next week's hunting trip. Before I left the range, I set up the target at 50 yards. Shot one and smiled when I saw it dead-on. If I hadn't built the rifle that morning, I would have called it good and packed up. Shot the second one just to confirm. Didn't need to lauch excessive amounts of lead down-range.

Hummm. Maybe so, but my last deer at 290 yards didn't think so.

I am sure he did not... By my calculations with that target you posted you would have been - 2.5" POI from the crosshairs at 290.
At 290 yards, 3" is about the width of a crosshair... An old guy like you cant hold it that steady anyway...

Wow! Bushy they're pickin' on you again! what the heck is that all about?
I could see them wanting to pick on me but you work hard every day and shoot like Davey Crockett. Since you're still gettin' older you ain't old yet. I just don't get it...
Maybe because they know you are tough enough to take it and fight back - I would just sit down in the corner and cry and then shoot them all..... in the back!

No real problem Paul. They just don't know or haven't been told that 70 is the new "middle age".
