Our son Nathan managed to catch his first trout on a fly rod tonight..hes been trying for awhile and the last 2 nights has been down in a local river whipping the water and tonight it paid of. its around the 2lb mark and Im sure the memory of it will last till his old age.

He went down again tonight and I followed 15mins later....txt sent to tell him I was coming to join him...got about 250yards from house and heard a yell...carried on and heard more yelling...got to river and " hurry up I need help"
tinny bugger had a good fish on...Dad came along just in time and netted it for him..would have gone 4lb if fat  but would have been about 2lb as he was..so lad took crappy photo on his phone and we released hm to grow fatter
he he he he he  lad is hooked

went out to another local stream last night and found some good fish there too. big and fat but not stupid...

persisting down with rain here since midnight so I kicked lad out to go catch a fish before he drove us all completely bonkers(bored teenagers indoors=mayhem) he came back right on que to eat Bec's hot pinwheel scones for lunch bringing this 4lb beasty with him.
