A very interesting movie by Colin Howells
youtu.be/OneyeUxzL40

Notice they use Ruger 77 with 308 NATO cartridges.
Buffaloes are not as strong back then.. today people want you to use at least a 338 or larger stuff.. LOL

That is sure a lot of steaks. Speaks volumes about proper shot placement.

Give it a few years and the gun writers will be recommending a 375 H&H for deer!! In fact a few years ago, a new hunter joined our group for deer hunting with an Win M70 with an 18" barrel!

He had read in hunting magazines that the 375 H&H was one of the most versatile cartridge there is (true) from varmits to elephants. I ended up sighting that rifle which weighted in at exactly 6.9lbs and it had a muzzle blast that would lay the daisies low and she kicked like a mule.

I got him away from the factory 270gr and 300gr bullets and now uses 200gr sierra's at 30/06 velocities. Plus he just started to learn how to cast his own and that opens up even more versatility for the 375.

WOW.. a 375 in 18 inch barrel would fireball out at least a few meters!!
Dragon breath... I guess it wont be a good rifle for Aussie Summer hunting.
In winter, might be a welcome thing for the warmth the fireball gives out Very Happy
