Got this pic from my son. The young fellow here is the son of one of his co-workers. This guy was shot down in the Lewiston, Idaho area on public land. I can't imagine the thrill. Very Happy

well slim I think that is just a huge rack. the symmetry is very good and it would score highly on our douglas score system because of this. the "throw back tine" is not unusual really as we see it often. all the other tines are paired up nicely.

the rack sure dwarfs the body. I've looked at this picture several times and finally realize there is more than just the rack - the elk is on the ground.

SJ, where do you aim when you only see racks walking by?
For me, being older, I know that the animal itself tasts better than the trophee...

I would be highly surprised if this is indeed a public land bull. I've seen thousands of elk in the wild and the ONLY time I've ever seen racks that come close to this type of antler configuration are from the "high fence" ranch raised bulls fed hormone supliments.

Not saying it cant happen... just that bulls like that dont just show up on public ground. I will research the picture a bit.
