Oh the Irony on this headline...Justice Breyer was robbed in his vacation home late last week. This guy is one of the staunchest supporters AGAINST the 2nd amendment.

I wish someone would press him on this issue now. And I totally disagree with him that somehow modern technology has changed human nature. Does he belive that we shouldn't have "freedom of speech" on TV or the internet because the Founding Fathers couldn't have foreseen them?

That is why they have the 9th amendment in the first ten:
9th Amendment
The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall
not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the
people.
When you know that you can't list them all, and have a good idea that others may decide that only the rights you list are valid you go out of your way to protect the individual's rights.

What I would like to see is proof, conclusive proof, from Breyer and his "historians" as to how they know what Madison was thinking hundreds of years ago. I would like to see them prove this statement:
"He said historians would side with him in the case because they have concluded that Founding Father James Madison was more worried that the Constitution may not be ratified than he was about granting individuals the right to bear arms.
Madison "was worried about opponents who would think Congress would call up state militias and nationalize them. 'That can't happen,' said Madison," said Breyer, adding that historians characterize Madison's priority as, "I've got to get this document ratified."
Therefore, Madison included the Second Amendment to appease the states, Breyer said."
Last I heard, crystal balls only existed in cartoons and the movies.
Nothing annoys me more than politicians etc that say they know what someone was thinking, and take actions, or making decisions, according to their own feelings and beliefs, using those "known thoughts", claiming them as fact, as justification for their actions or decisions.

I think with him being robbed by someone with a big knife (machete) will not change his mind on guns!! If anything, he will now add knives to his generally anti-weapon stance. Some people are so hard set in their way of thinking that they just cannot be changed no matter what facts are in front of them.
Even thou Nevis West Indies has a very hard line against firearms, I can bet you he will now have a guard at his vacation house.
BTW, I wonder if Breyer thought for a fraction of a second "If I only had a Gun".

Which is a good thing. Politicians that deny us our rights should feel the need to have a guard. The whole purpose of the Second Amendment was to allow us protection from tyranny.
