Hey Crackers....any idea how fast that load is pushing? What's the recipe? That's good damage/results at that range. Lots of shove and smash still in it.

I need to chrony my 200gr Nos JHP, 800x load. Hits the 100y gong with a pretty good kabong.

That 800x is a great powder, besides using it in my 12ga for heavy loads, I loaded up 15gr of 800x behind a 200 gr Nos jhp good for 1540fps. And they were darn accurate too!!

Yepper. If memory serves I'm around 14.0 or so grains, I need to check. That some good speed Omni. If I hold well it'll group, even with that low BC slug. Whole lot cleaner and less violent than H110. I save that for the heavy pills.

Cool stuff! Pistol hunting info and junk!

Yep! the DE's are alil faster than revolvers. I have a load for the 180gr Sierra JHC bullets pushing 1900 FPS. from the 10" barrel. Wee bit louder too! All the powder blast is exiting out the front other than the wee bit used to run the gun. And its alot less than the cylander gap on most revolvers.

Good grief Crackshot, you are pushing the limits of your DE, with my 210gr boolits I keep velocity under 1500fps in my SRH.

Not realy pushing Stovepipe. Its a published load of 23.0gr of 2400. its on the Max side of the published data, but its still not giving any danger signs in my brass. And it HAMMERS deer inside 50yds! The bullets just blow right through unless bone is hit. Then it disintegrates.

He's Omni, I'M stovepipe.

LOL!

Yeh- them 180's are zippy lil suckers, hit like a shrick bit house too. You using Nos sporting or Hornaday's or...? That's pretty fast for them bulk bullets I buy but I hear I'm ok for up to 1900-2000 on them soft JHP's. People shoot them out of lever guns going at least that fast w/o any issues.

Berrys plated, Sierra JHC'c, Hornady XTP's, or Rainier Plated are what I use in the DEP. I use cast bullets as well in my revolvers.

I mis-read your post Crackshot, It was in my mind that you were zipping 210gr boolits at 1900fps instead of 180gr. Ooops..

Np Omnivision, Very Happy Yea I looked and the average velocity for my 180gr Sierra JHC's over 23.0gr's of AL 2400 through my DEP 10" is 1872FPS acording to M35P chronograph. Like i said, "PUSHING" 1900FPS.

I also have a nice load for the Hornady 240gr XTP. with AL2400 pushing along at an average of 1610 FPS from the 10 DEP.. They always blow through deer for me, NEVER recovered a bullet. The best I have through my 8" Smith with this is 1484 FPS.
