Looks like this gator has solved his food problems for a little while.

After a meal that size he probably won't need to eat for a day or so. Do they wait for deer at the edge of the water and catch them when they come for a drink??????

No idea how they catch them mate.
I know that the saltwater crocodiles here in Australia are aware of EVERYTHING going on around their piece of water/turf. When they identify something near the water they will glide up to the waters edge, have a look then launch from the water at it if it looks edible. They are very fast over short distances on land, but tire quickly. They have also been known to travel unbelievable distances on land. We had a near death about 12 months ago. The croc came into a campsite about 75 or more metres away from the water and had a go at a person in a sleeping bag! wtf Nasty.

I'm glad we don't have anything like that here in Saskatchewan. Very Happy

Wonder if the gator can tollerate digesting that type of hair Confused Or will it be one big gelatinous hair ball Laughing

Oh, I bet after a couple of million years, they digest or pass the hair just fine. After all how often do they get to eat skinned meat? Makes you stop and wonder, though, what it must be like to live and hunt in the deep south.

I was awakened early this morning and decided to watch the outdoor channel. Some woman I don't remember her name is in Africa on a hunting safari. To make a long story endless she and the PH. set up a blind on a river and use a barn door size peice of Hippo as bait. to lure the the reptiles in. I guess they were close, because they looked close in the picture and you could see they were big. A brain shot slows them down real fast. Well as the story goes this big croc has eaten 6 people in the past couple of months. So the hunter is happy hid client has killer her trophy, and the locals are happy becaue they cabn get water agin and not worry about getting eaten. What a world some people live in.
