Quick, who can be in Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Canada by 0500hrs October 22nd to be my partner for the coyote derby? I can supply you with everything you'll need but your underwear; calls, camo, coffee!

No ocean in Saskatchewan so don't think my boss would fall for me going on an operational exchange.

Well I made out well, I took the largest coyote payout. A big $18 on a $20 entrance fee. Take about $80 fuel and two bullets $1.50 and I am running at a better rate than Greece is! He was a 34.5 lb male, NICE white colour and dark markings.

Well done Ron...as Elvis said mate, $83 ain't too bad for a hunt. Plus you get the other pelts. Do you tan the hides yourself? I have tanned both deer and roo skins, and although it does take a little work, it is worthwhile.

Cheers, Vince

Hey Vince
I really don't have a place to skin out anything and my garage is unheated and uninsulated so I am at a gret disadvantage. That being said there are a lot of guys that are using an air reciever in the back of their pickups to skin the main hide if not all of it soon after the kill. It seems to work good and there are several you tube posts that show how to do it. I also was told by one of the guys after the weekend that I should get into snaring coyotes with this snare setup that was developed by a Canadian trapper Senneker that is called a stinger set. I should imagine that it would work for roos and dingos/fox for you. Here is the website: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Sr-3sNY-bg

This is a how to on making the Senneker Kill Spring/ Canadian dispatch snare. This is a 1x19 1/16" coyote dispatch snare
