IN World War 2 Russia had exactly 20,000,000 men in her army .7,000,000 died in battle Embarassed ,but 14,000,000 men were wounded in battle . What I would like to know is how you have every man in your army wounded or killed and still survive!! And I found they,in total ,lost minus 1,000,000 men due to wounds ! How can you have minus 1,000,000 men ? TAlk about a scary army !!!! Confused wtf

14 million were wounded at one point or another.

7 million died.

So assuming everyone was ether killed and/or wounded in battle, then 1 million soldiers were wounded in battle and then later killed in a fallowing battle as well.

But for all we know the 14 million wounded includes all 7 million that died. As its common practice to consider all KIA "casualties" and all wounded members "casualties" as well. Which means those 14 million could all have been listed as casualties, and then a separate but together number of 7 million could be the actual deaths. So the numbers could mean that half the wounded in action soldiers died from their wounds.

In WW2 it was not uncommon to be wounded, recover and return to the front. My father (US Army and later USAF Ret.,RIP) was wounded in both WW2 and Korea and returned to duty both times. If they only counted permanently disabling wounds, which they don't, then you could get an idea of troop strength, etc... John Kerry could tell you all about it.

Sorry,

I was meaning that the 14 million casualties included the 7 million who died.

As if they are killed in action or wounded in action they are all causalities.

By the way how else would a soldier die in battle if not from his wounds ?? Confused

Dimitri
