|
I will be taking classes in the next few months. I am wondering about it being good in other states, I will be taking it in Michigan (where I live). In the summer I am going down to North/South Carolina for three months, so I need to know if it is good there or will be have to take another class down south.
Please let me know what you know, and any links to the laws that you know of. I ahve doen some searches with no results.
Thanks in advance,
Jesse

Here's another site to check out !!!!!!
www.usconcealedcarry.c...ment46.cfm
Pa. and Fla. permits are two of the most widely accepted
Both can be obtained via mail
Just watch out for those states that do not recognize them in a non residents hand.

jcp, look here for NC >> www.ncdoj.com/Document...states.pdf
For handguns in a vehicle in NC >> www.nccrimecontrol.org...935,000941
Your Concealed carry permit should work here.

Another site is www.carryconcealed.net Whern you getto the site go down to "Pack-N-Go CCW Trip Planner" And enter there.
For your other question on hand gun laws go to www.handgunlaw.us
With all these sites everyone has listed for you to look at, you should be able to really plan your trip with ease.

Has anyone ever found any laws that say what you can do ????????????????
The laws are wrote saying what you can't do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For example, If I walk in on a crime am I allowed to use deadly force to save another live.
I belive the ansewer depends on the state your in.
How do you find out what "the law" has to say about it.

Chambered, try searching the state and local laws for "Use of deadly force". I see that NC seems to have one law for citizens and another for law enforcement.

www.mcrgo.org
This is a Michigan only website. It's Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners. They have a lot of information on there. That's where I found my instructor for my ccw class. They also have a map of the states that honor Michigans licenses. Both the Carolina's honor our ccw licenses.

Thanks, Ive been using words like self defense, rigths, gun laws........
Law enforcement is sometimes held to a higher degree because they are trained professionals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chambered, that and they tend to be in some different situations than armed citizens. For example, I don't see myself trying to prevent the escape of a felon from custody.

As Southern states go, South Carolina is weird when it comes to guns. SC is more in common with New Jersey than it is its immediate neighbors, although that is changing for better. For the longest time, SC had no reciprocity with CCW.
And it's not just guns. The only way to buy a drink in a bar in SC was to purchase the whiskey in one of those little miniature airline bottles.
They just don't think like normal Southerners. I can't figure it out.
