I'm trying to organize the topics into Categories and Subcategories... Moose is technically "venison" but what about Bison? Does it fit into any other category or is it just a category by itself? What about Beef? Beefalo?

I'm leaning toward stuffing Moose under Venison and comming up with a new category for Beef and Bison... although I cant think of a name for that atm.

I'm completely open to suggestion on how to organize this thing before people start using it. I think the other topics broke down into logical categories / subcategories but somethings are seem to be categories all by themselves.

Lets here some opinions!

Why not set it up based on the general type of meat then the specific animal ??

If its techiniclly something that can be grouped with other animals group them like that. No need to get over complicated I think. Smile

The KISS princible is a great method in my opinion Very Happy

Thats pretty much what is set up now (Bison isnt "venison" though... its Bovine like cattle. I did forget "quail" though and Swans and such.

Thanks for the input.

Sorry Dallan,

I didnt know that there is a seperate "Bovine" catagory. Actually for most pratical purposes I just seperate meat in 2 catagories:

Red Meat. (Deer, cow, pork etc)
White meat. (Chicken, Turkey, Quail etc)

Red meat being my preffered Wink

But it still sounds good! Very Happy

How about having Bison as it's own catagory and leave things "domestic" things in a domestic catagory.

Birds-upland or water fowl

Small Game- rabbits squirels-racoons-,ect.

deer-whitetail, Mule, blacktail, moose, elk, Caribou?

goat- sheep, goats and antelope

Bison

Bears

Lets not forget fish, fresh and saltwater

Then have an everything else catagory.
