well got the bush load sorted with some big fat roundnose 180grn jobbies from Mr Hornady...pushed along with 1 grn less than max of 2208...very pleasant to shoot....
mate and I did rifle exchange thing...... he now proud owner of the BLR (it goes with his stetson) and Ive now got a zastava .308 to go with my .223
anyway,my mate up and pops 2 silly young billy scrouts at about 15 yards the other day using 150 grn hornadies pushed along with 2 grn below max load...so not humming but possibly doing 2800??? both goats dropped on spot with chest shots....both gutted and washed out in nearby creek,I carried them home and we skinned them the next morning, both animals had blow back/suck back...something Ive read about but never seen before.... the vegetation from gut had gone into shoulder area so it traveled BACKWARDS from direction of projectile...I believe theory is the cavity formed by shockwave sucks it back in before it closes...was a plurry mess but luckily we only lost one shoulder off each tasty wee critter.
anyone else struck this???

Elvis, I've not heard of this before regarding terminal performance of a bullet. However, this is the mechanism that makes underwater blast sink ships. Its not that blast that breaks the ship open, its the water slug rushing back into the void left by the explosion.
