yes Sir, the rifle is a little heavy but, considering the fact that it goes from the truck straight to the shooting bench, weight is not a consideration as far as that goes...

I'll show you one of my 15 pound rifles and you can tell me what you think of it...

This little N.E.F. with it's 16 1/4" barrel makes a superb little rifle for both deer and varmints. Besides the 155 gr. Hornady A-MAX that I load for both deer and coyote, the factory loaded SPEER 150 gr. Grand Slam load will shoot under an inch at 100 yards when shot from the bench. Two other bullets that I load for this gun are the SPEER 130 gr. Hollow Point and Sierra's 110 gr. Hollow Point....

ACTION: B-R repeater...

BARREL: Lilja 4-groove / #5 contour

CALIBER: 280 Ackley Improved

STOCK: McMillan Hunter / Varmint with custom paint job...

BASE / RINGS: Millett...

SCOPE: Nightforce 5.5X22-56mm

MUZZLE BRAKE: my own design...

TOTAL WEIGHT: 13 pounds...

ACCURACY: shooting Noslers 150 gr. Ballistic Tip bullet at 3,200 fps., this gun will consistantly group 5-shots under 1" at 200 yards...

yes Sir, I have built MATCH rifles in 30-06 but more have been chambered in 308 Winchester....

this is a MATCH rifle that I built that is chambered for the 30-06. Here is a complete list of specs on it -

ACTION: Savage 110 set up as single shot...

TRIGGER: rebuilt factory Accu Trigger / 4 ounces...

BARREL: Shilen Select Match / #8 contour - 1.00" muzzle diameter at 26"...

STOCK: McMillan - McHale stock modified to fit Savage action...

CALIBER / TWIST: Match chambered 30-06...

BASE: Zero Manufacturing tapered base...

ACCURACY: 5-shots @ 100 yards - .260 average / 200 yards - .519 / 300 yards - .717...

COMMENTS: one of the more accurate 30-06's that I have had the opportunity to fire...


MOST ACCURATE LOAD TESTED SO FAR - LOAD DEVELOPMENT IS STILL BEING DONE - -

CASE: Lapua Match prepped 30-06 cases...

PRIMER: Federal Gold Medal Match - 215M...

POWDER: H-414 / 55.4 gr....

BULLET: Sierra 175 gr. Match King...

VELOCITY: 2,718 fps....

ACCURACY: see above...

Accuracy testing is being done with a 45X Leupold Target...
