Well, I copied the full list and I will start using them to compose my posts.
I found it "interesting" that "initiative" was on the list of threat words.
I am surprised that "Bill of Rights" wasn't there, or "recall" or "impeach".
Some other words that should have been listed:
President
Representative
Congress
Senate
Senator
I would have thought that those were the most dangerous to the American Freedoms that we hold so dear.

I would guess they would assign a numeric value to the words (maybe 1 for airport and 5 for bomb), add these numbers and use the sum as a level of concern.

Going by that list, i must be flagged by every agency there is. Very Happy
oddly enough, for the first time in three or four years, my luggage didn't contain a "searched by TSA" notice upon returning to the UK.
Maybe they're trying to lure me into a false sense of security.......

With a list like that I should be hearing a knock (crash, bangflash. "FBI!!! Everyone on the floor!!!") at my door any minute now.

Heh, I don't guess, I know I'm on the watch list in that case. Laughing

Jihad all by itself doesn't spark much tension but when you add in TSA and initiative that will ring bells all over.

oops! I feel like I'm being watched.
Now I have to dispose of my sim card and erase my hard drive.

There's a knock at the door, I be right back...........

ok Im in a fight picking mood. these guys have a shitty job to do to try and protect us all from the ragheaded rrrseholes who are threatening us all. If surfing the net and looking for certain words or phrases narrows down the search well good on them for having the gumption to use the "tool" to do it for them.
If they look at what I write or any of us they will see the catch phrase in "context" which is all that is needed to sift the shite from the clay so to speak.
the guys looking for perverts trading in kiddie porn use similar methods and man you have got to take your hat off to them. that job sifting through untold heartbreaking images etc is one I dont wish on anyone.
just my take on things.

Elvis, I see your point but treating everyone like a criminal is not the way it should be done - at least here in the US of A. We have rights that are supposed to protect our privacy, freedom of speach and the right to bear arms - along with a host of others that are listed and not listed. When the government uses tactics that put everyone under suspision to "prevent" crime then you don't have freedom or security. You can't prevent crime - not without taking away the rights of the people. You need to prosecute criminals and stop plea-bargans and light sentences. We need to put repeat offenders away for good and prosecute for the crime committed. We should not lose our rights and freedoms just so those policing the "bad" guys can look at everyone for wrong-doing. The Constitution requires a warrant, sworn to under oath, signed by a judge which names who or where the search will performed and what is being searched for. There is no probable cause to listen in on ALL telephone calls or search ALL digital communications and certainly no warrant is issued. Even though it is "legal" it is UNLAWFUL in the US of A and will either be dumped like yesterdays trash, the people and their states will modify the relationship they have with the fed or a civil war will be the end of the US of A and a new union will be formed with a heavily restricted fed.

I tend to be a bit excitable when it comes to my constitutional rights and my freedoms as a citizen of the US of A.

Unfortunately, both Elvis and Paul are correct. I can understand the reasons for Homeland Security doing what they are doing...and it would be an extremely difficult job...but I also agree with Paul's sentiments. Where do we draw the line???

I think a big part of the problem these days is over zealous bureaucrats or LEO's who have an inflated opinion of their powers and/or who are trying to make a name for themselves and go down in history as having done something special...or being the "next" J Edgar Hoover. Very Happy Very Happy

The downside to this is ordinary people like you and me, even though we have rights, are treated by the authorities as having less rights than their wishes/beliefs, or they believe we should have.

It is not just the US that is suffering this problem...it is worldwide...and we have no one but ourselves to blame in a lot of cases...we have become too complacent and have little or no empathy as far as the rest of society is concerned, so long as we (personally) are OK. The touchy feely, warm and fuzzy, tree hugging, kumbayar minority groups have much to answer for as well.

As for the possibility of another "civil war"...again...too much apathy on the part of many people to get "involved" and that means they will be walked over by a "vocal minority".

Cheers, Vince

the line as I see it is what is done with the info looked at.
I personally dont give a rats bumhole If the "powers that be" are reading this
if I did I would not be typing it in a public domain that is open for all to see.
and another thing if you recall how the lovely Suz got the stout switcher name??
just after that someone else looked up the term and low n behold huntingnut and that post were the first thing that popped up on google.
is that an invasion of privacy??? I think not. if you put something on the internet it instantly is beyond your control what happens to it from there.
if these guys are looking for a needle in the proverbial haysack let them use a pitchfork, aslong as they dont jab you in the bum with it where is the harm??
