That is para cord 'Mitri...in fact it looks like genuine para cord, cut from a parachute. I have about a dozen lengths of it that I cut from a military cargo parachute...have the 'chute as well tucked away somewhere.

I thought that the Oz army would have spools of that cord. We did. We called if 550 cord as it could hold 550 lbs. You guys were like everyone else and scavenged the old cargo chutes for it in a pinch. LOL |
Oh, they had heaps of spools mate...but you try and get near the stuff...not a chance. Like everything else that was considered attractive. it was very firmly controlled.

thats a cool knife. Being its for the more special force types, does it hold a special purpose? is it made for certain functions? or is it just a good all around general blade?

That's a great blade. A gent in Montana makes some just like that- same shape- all sorts of sizes too. They really are a joy to hold and slice with- excellent ergo's. Pretty pricey but he guarntees them for life from what I gather and I think they are worth it. Reminds me gotta call my sis and get more info on him....!
Sweet blade bud! You will get many years of great use from it.

Hey Dimitri
I have the same knife i have had it since 1981 when it was given to me by a freind of mine.I joined the Canadian Army in 1984 and went into the Canadian Airborne Regiment. The knife was an unoffical issue through out the military but was especially prized by those of us in the" Special Services"
It is an excellent fighting knife and was designed around a good sturdy utility knife.I would say it surpasses any other knife used by any other military that however is my own personel take on it.The knife has saved my life a few times in and out of the service. If you take care of it it will take care of you.
Cheers Drew
