The east coast from So. Carolina on up has winter storm warnings, watches and blizzards being forecast once again. Seems like we just got done with this. www.huntingnut.com/ind...mp;start=0

I'm off for the rest of the year, got plenty of coal for the stove and gas for the generator so if it's gonna come anyway, now is as good of time as any. Snow always looks nicer when seen from the inside of a window.

Mike,
Nothing nicer than a white Christmas. I wish we had it Christmas day I could have stayed home instead of running around to the relatives.
It just started here around 1:30 this afternoon, but it's coming down fast. Everything is white already and they are predicting 6-10" for me.

Most news stations really hype their weather reports especially snow forecasts. We were told to expect 6 to 10 inches. So far we have about 1/4 inch and now we are looking for 1 to 3 inches. I am the Emergency Management Director for my township and rely only on the National Weather Service which is not allowed to hype their weather reports. All the best...

Gil, we are in Boston and the news forecast is for 12 to 24 inches with 40 mph winds! I hope the reality is more what you are are getting so we can get out tomorrow.

Gil,
It looks like we are going to dodge the bullet on this one, but not by much. Jersey is getting hammered with Cape May reporting 18" and Atlantic City saying 15" as of 9PM. Even as close as Sussex NJ. is saying they have 13". I usually watch WFMZ and WNEP, but I also access NOAA National Weather on the internet.

Wish we had the snow out here! WE should be ice fishing in these parts but its still open water on most lakes, those few with ice have 6" of water and slush on them.
Bring on the snow!

Well...no snow here...but we have had the coolest Christmas I can remember. We been averaging high 20s C when we are usually sitting around mid to high 30s C.
Been raining for almost 3 months pretty much non stop...18 months ago we were in the grip of the worst drought in memory, and now we have floods everywhere...got me pretty confused. That much water laying around my yard I have almost as much moss growing as I have lawn grass...and I think I'm developing web feet.
Wonder when the next ice age starts? They say once every 10,000 years and we are overdue.
Cheers, Vince

Good luck to you Slim, but from what I read and seen on the news, it doesn't look good.

We got about an inch. I guess the rest of the 10 inches that were predicted are on backorder. All the best...

We got about 20" of snow on Sunday, and had 65mph wind. On one side of my house you could see the top of the grass, on the other (the driveway side) it was piled up about 3 feet! The Long Island Rail Road shut down so I didn't have to go in to work on monday, but I spent most of the day digging out, and helped a couple neighbors dig out. I'm back at work in Manhattan today, and this place is a mess. It's a North East city, I would have thought we were better prepared for this kind of storm, but it looks like a couple more days before we get back to normal. I hope everyone affected by the storm got through it OK. I guess we were pretty lucky. We lost power for about 2 or 3 hours Sunday night, but it's been on ever since.
