|
Hey all, it's been awhile!
After moving to Alberta a couple of years ago, I had to learn how to hunt Whitetails and Elk. (As opposed to Moose and Mules, what I grew up hunting) Last season I managed to call in a bull, but couldn't close the deal. This year! opening morning, 7:30 am, I see 9 Elk total and one of them was a more than legal bull. (3 point and better are open right now) Took him with my 270 Winchester shooting 130 grain Nosler Partitions, it did the job wonderfully!
Me thinks the smile won't come off my face for days!!!!
PS: there was another Bull calling not too far away about an hour after I shot this one, me thinks I'll take my better half in there tomorrow and see if she can fill her tag also.

Thanx all.
We didn't get the second bull yet. We have seen three other bulls, but they've been just little guys. I thought I was going to call out a big boy yesterday, had him talking, but his little brother came in first and kinda screwed it all up....
This is a video I took of the wee guy coming in....

I can't wait to get the meat back from the butcher, the barbecue is all cleaned and ready to do some grillin!!!.....

Thanks for sharing. He will be bigger next year (he was a yearling, correct?) I was surprized he knew to zig-zag!
