I don't know, Stovey, but it makes you look a bit big in the hind quarters.

I like bagpipes - HIGHLAND pipes!
It is almost as good as the sound from a large bore rifle. (but more musical)
I don't wear a kilt but even I know what's under them - and a wife should too... unless there is a problem at home....??!!

I'm surprised. All these comments about what's under the kilts - and nobody has asked what's under the hood of that sweet Chevy.
My wedding ride was a '53 Willys pickup. That's the only ride I got that night, too :-( The Mrs got drunk and passed out.
Reminds me of a joke I heard on Comedy central:
My wife and I were astrologically incompatible. You see, I am a Pisces.
She was a big fishhook in the corner of my mouth.

Thanks for the kind words everyone...I'll make sure I pass them onto my daughter and her husband.

Wait, is that right-hand drive or is the admirer just used to walking up to the passenger's, oops, driver's door? IS THIS YOUR CHEVY??? You've only showed us pictures of you motorcycles before this.
Vince you are one stud of a man!! Where did you learn to play the bag pipes? |
Not my car Slim...the guy who owns and restored it hires it out for things like weddings and school formals. Under the hood is the original stock six cylinder.
Me a stud...well I 'spose maybe...I do have 4 daughters. As for playing the bagpipes Slim...I been playing for the past 48 years. Started learning when I was 10 years old...and I'm still learning.

Red in the face...yep...had been playing for a while prior to this and also got a little Sun earlier on.
Under the kilt....why, shoes and socks of course mate.
Cheers, Vince

Nah, congrats on your daughters wedding, the main thing is that everyone looked extremely comfortable and happy. Hope the day and aftermatch was a rippa.

Mate, the dinner and a "few" beers with my brother later in the night was an absolute corker. I could not have enjoyed myself any better.

Nice send-off Vince!! Too bad you couldn't keep the car, that must be worth something over there. What a lovely couple. Looks like the weather participated nicely too. Does Daddy miss his daughter? I bet you do!

my all time favourite muscle car is an early 70's (72 or thereabouts) Dodge Challenger with a 426 Hemi, although a good 440 Magnum is acceptable. |
Well Vince, you could import one of the new Challengers with a Hemi and 6-speed. They look pretty nice. I looked for a Challenger back in the early 80's. I wanted the 340 6-pack but didn't find one before a '67 Dodge Charger with a 383 4-bbl with a 4-speed captured my attention and came home with me. I drove it while I restored it and finally let it go in 1997. Missed the big-block and manual transmission so much I got a 1999 Camaro Z-28 then moved up to a 2004 GTO (Monaro). I'm keeping that car for the long run.
The Aussies built a great car! Maybe you should skip importing a Challenger and go for a used Monaro GTO or the new 4-dr Commodore SS. They are one sweet ride that will leave you smiling all the time with better handling, more comfort, and fewer break-downs than the vintage muscle cars.

The SS is a nice car Slim, no two ways about that mate...but if I could afford a Commodore V8, it would be one of the HSV range...a Clubsport is very "attractive".
Holden Special Vehicle (HSV)
I must admit though, I am definitely a retro type of guy...love the looks of the older cars...each one is an individual, whereas today most cars look too much alike.

I like the little pickup. Don't have the slightest idea what I would do with it though. It can't pull my horse trailer and it can't haul a ton of baled hay either, but it is cute...Bet it's about as hard to get in and out of as my wife's Saturn.

I used to have a 1974 Ranchero and was looking for an El Camino SS back when I was younger. Pontiac was supposed to import this sport truck (UTE) but thanks to Obama, this and Pontiac got shut down. It would have been nice to have a vehicle like this in the States!
